Good Evening Beloved Community,
Happy Take Care Tuesday! God has called and calls us to become the Beloved Community. Community is something so precious we need not take it for granted. Community beckons us to live a live not in isolation but in togetherness. Community helps one another. Tonight I attended the Santa Maria City Council meeting. They had lots of decisions to make regarding the good of the community from CDBG(Community Development Block Grant) allocations that entailed capital and social service expenditures, Fireworks regulations, and how to annex land into the city without destroying prime agricultural land. Everything we do is connected one to another and God teaches us that everyday. Today we lost another great in spiritual and social justice ministry and his name was Jean Vanier. We will begin our time of worship by meditating upon his words. Think of his words having to do with community. So let us begin.
Everyday Wisdom from Jean Vanier
In order to grow towards wholeness,
accepting our brokenness
and gradually becoming more compassionate,
we need the power of the Spirit.
But we are humans
and we must also know the ways of our own bodies and beings…
Each one of us must find our own secret rhythm
of how to rest, relax and find re-creation
for each one of our bodies is different.
We need personal space and time.
God gave the Jewish people the Sabbath
as a day of rest.
Each of us must discover our own Sabbath,
our real nourishment…
We must learn
not just to free ourselves from tension and fatigue
on the Sabbath day, our day of rest.
We must also learn
as the mother must learn
in front of the never-ending needs of her children,
how to respect our energy
and relax in all the moments of our day
filled as they may be with arduous work
or often tiresome meetings,
and crises of all sorts,
and the hundred and one things that have to be done.
To do this we must discover how to harmonize
the active and the passive in us.
if we are just doers,
feeling terribly responsible and serious,
we will crack up one day.
We must nourish the passive part of us,
our hearts made for a personal love,
learning to listen to others,
to marvel at nature,
to rest a moment in the presence of Jesus,
to receive the love of those around us
and be nourished by their trust,
enjoying the little things of each day,
not taking ourselves too seriously,
accepting to become like little children.

God of light, love, and peace we light our candles this night for all who find themselves in dark places and uncertain times. We pray for our families who find themselves estranged from their blood families who don't know how to reach out in love when a diagnosis of a life threatening disease has been made. We pray for peace in this world that light and love may shine into the war torn areas and areas where terror, fear, bullying, bigotry and abuse are a daily occurrence. We pray that we may learn how to be family to our enemies, haters, and those who differ from us. We pray that we may always seek to acknowledge the best in ourselves when it is most difficult. Help us we pray that we may show great faith when all we feel is doubt and despair around us. May we seek to be your children and loving families each and every day. Take away from us all bitterness and diversity when ever we feel frustrated, discouraged, and upset due to other people's actions that seek to trigger the worst in us. We light our candles O God and shine your light and love into the world. Let us light 4 virtual candles that will remind us of our calling to be CALM.

Tonight let us meditate on how we can practice non violence and turn away from hate. This is my encouragement to practice peace, love, justice, unity and letting God be God as God is ! God is Love! God of unity help us to break down the walls that separate us . May we be united as one family under you O God.
God of peace, we pray for peace in our hearts, minds, spirits, and especially in our cities, and in the war torn places in this your fragile and broken world.
God of justice, we pray that everyone may be granted the right to peaceably assemble and protest injustices anywhere.
God of mercy, help us to show mercy to all those who are the least of these and see you in each of their faces. May we reflect love, kindness, mercy, and shine the light of Christ to them.
God of kindness, help us to be kind and not hateful and replace hate for kindness, love, justice, and mercy.
God of all creation, we pray that we may become united with all creation and practice Godly conservation that will please You and heal your planet for the good of all living things. We pray for rain that it will heal all the drought stricken areas of the world and in our state.
God of Healing, Heal all of our family members who are in need of healing of body, mind, and spirit.
May we reach out to them when they cry and ask for help.
God of Comfort, We pray for all those who pre-grieving and sitting vigil at bedside while they wait for their loved ones to transition into the Thin Places. May we offer solace and comfort when needed.
God we pray for all those who are dying and who have died today that they may have or have had a joyful and peaceful journey into the Thin Places.
God of all Gentleness, we pray for the health and safety for all of the little ones your children. We pray that they may be treated as precious treasures and may be cared for tenderly.
God of Forgiveness and mercy we ask forgiveness of all the wrongs that we have done either by omission and commission.
