The New #AdventWords and #HashTags With Meaning are here! Today's word is #Befriend

Good Evening Dear Family of Love,

Happy Self-Care Saturday! I hope everyone has had a relaxing day!  Today's featured #AdventWord is #Befriend. To be a friend we must befriend each other. Friendship is one of the hardest relationships one can ever be in. It takes courage and a lot of trust to connect with another person who isn't a family member and doesn't know your quirks. Social media is a wonderful way of making friends but sometimes these relationships are fraught with landmines and unreasonable expectations.
We must learn new ways of #Befriending on another in the wider world of social media and beyond. To be a modern day friend we all need to do the following:
Be kind
Use and choose our words wisely.
Take time to know what a person's triggers are and yes even exclude them from posts you know will upset them.
Be CALM (Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful)
If there are rough edges and you want to continue this unique relationship please consider doing SKYPE so that you can have a face to face time.
Read posts with listening ears.
Fact check your information before you post. This one sounds crazy but it will help prevent unnecessary minefields for you and others.
Remember your manners and the wise saying "If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all!"
Count to fifteen before you comment or reply.
Take your time and learn about your new friends. Some of these friendships are ones that will be professional in nature.
Remember that each person you meet on social media and face to face are children of God and made in their image and likeness.
Love them unconditionally but don't be a doormat.

Tonight let us ponder and meditate on the synonyms of the #AdventWord #Befriend.

Let us all remember that we all need to be like the little children who approached Jesus and he accepted them with open arms. The Comfortable Words!

Hear the Word of God to all who truly turn to him.
Come unto me, all ye that travail and are heavy laden, and
I will refresh you. Matthew 11:28

God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son,
to the end that all that believe in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life. John 3:16

This is a true saying, and worthy of all men to be received,
that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
1 Timothy 1:15

If any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus
Christ the righteous; and he is the perfect offering for our
sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole
world. 1 John 2:1-2

The  Beatitudes  Matthew 5:3–12

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. (5:3)
Blessed are those who mourn: for they will be comforted. (5:4)
Blessed are the meek: for they will inherit the earth. (5:5)
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they will be filled. (5:6)
Blessed are the merciful: for they will be shown mercy. (5:7)
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they will see God. (5:8)
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they will be called children of God. (5:9)
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (5:10

A Prayer attributed to St. Francis

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.

The Song of Mary    Magnificat
 Luke 1:46-55
My soul doth magnify the Lord, *
and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior.
For he hath regarded *
    the lowliness of his handmaiden.
For behold from henceforth *
all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath magnified me, *
 and holy is his Name.
And his mercy is on them that fear him *
    throughout all generations.
He hath showed strength with his arm; *
he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He hath put down the mighty from their seat, *
and hath exalted the humble and meek.
He hath filled the hungry with good things, *
and the rich he hath sent empty away.
He remembering his mercy hath holpen his servant Israel, *
as he promised to our forefathers,
Abraham and his seed for ever.

The Song of Simeon    Nunc Dimittis

Luke 2:29-32

Lord, you now have set your servant free *
    to go in peace as you have promised;
For these eyes of mine have seen the Savior, *
whom you have prepared for all the world to see:
A Light to enlighten the nations, *
and the glory of your people Israel.
