Building Bridges

Dear Family of Love,

I have returned from the Cal Poly Arab Music Ensemble's Fall Concert as part o my self-care routine to refresh and renew my spirit. I never knew how in depth and complex Arabic music is. You could almost feel like you were in Algebra class with the rhythms. They had an Armenian musical group as their special guests and they were fabulous. What gave me an uplifting spirit was the folk dancing that was part of the program. It reminded me of my days when I was a folk dance aficionado and all the good times I had learning about other cultures through dance. The leader of the Armenian group really spoke from his heart when he said "Where in the world could one go to have diverse ethnic groups coming together and enjoying music and each other's company?" "What country on earth could this be possible? "  "Only in America!" ' He said "God Bless America "  twice.  We need to start building bridges in friendship without being afraid or dancing on ping pong balls or eggshells.
Music is a bridge builder and it is like no other form of the arts where you can learn to live and be in harmony together. Sometimes music does have dissonant chords but when they resolve it is like the crest and dawn of a new day. I was wondering how many of you remember this song? Please click this link! It makes perfect sense doesn't it. So when you are in church later today lift up you voices in song as you praise and make melody to the Lord.  Tomorrow when you wake let us pray for unity, peace, love, and the courage to build bridges to banish hate and fear from the face of the Earth. Let this be our goal each day that we live move and just be. Take time to live in harmony with yourself and others. Let love and Love Energy and God's light shine throughout the world so that everyone will feel and know that we are the beautiful and loving family of God that God has created us to be.

Remember this one? We Are the World . It is true that that we are and beloved ones it is no longer acceptable to be Me, Me, Me but instead it is acceptable to be We, We, We and also not They, They, They too,  It's time to build bridges  of Love, Hope, Joy , and Peace and keep trying and not give up doing our best to bring about positive and life giving change to the world and in the communities in which we live.

For our prayer tonight let us pray this prayer and meditate upon it.

A Prayer attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.

Have a blessed and restful night and wake up refreshed and renewed in the morning! I love you. May God Bless you always!

With Love, joy, hope, and peace,

Sara
