An early blog as we unite together in prayer with the Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Orlando for prayer and remembrance.

Good Afternoon Dear Family,

Happy Sunday!. This is an early blog because I am attending the Glass Menagerie  at the Solvang Festival Theater tonight.  I know that everyone must be still feeling raw following the events in Orlando a week ago Sunday. I'm giving everyone permission as if you needed mine to feel. I just can't shake the enormity of the grief that keeps wafting in like the smell of pain. I don't expect or want us to move on from this because there are many lessons to be learned and voices to be heard. We are at a time and place where we personally need to be given permission to live authentically without fear and love all of our brothers and sisters. So today brothers and sisters let us grieve well, love well, be well, and speak truth to power well. We all must be agents of change together to make this world from the tiniest village to the largest metropolis, smallest Papal state to the largest country, a place of safety, a place of unity, a place where we all can live and be the beautiful and authentic children that God made without hatred, fear, bullying, an terror forever at our backs and doors. This isn't a time to cower in the corner but a time to love and to act for the benefit and good of all.

Today I would like us to be in sync with the prayer vigil at the Cathedral of St. Luke in Orlando which begins at 6:00 p.m. EDT. So we will do our virtual candlelight prayer vigil beginning then.

Gracious and loving God we light our candles early today to join our voices, candles, prayers, and those who come to grieve and remember all the lives lost a week ago with those attending the Vigil at The Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Orlando. Give us this time to pray and be together as one family and community of love and a community in grief for all whose lives have been touched by violence of any kind. We join in remembering your blessed children who entered into eternal joy a little too early in life. We pray that we may follow their examples of living and also that they may serve as beacons of change in this world where the weaponry of hate, war, and division my be silenced and that our world , our souls, our lives, our relationships, may be healed and that we all may be one.

We pray for the victims by Name and pause for a moment. If you have a bell or singing bowl ring it after each name.
