This weekend is our time for holy respite and compassion fatigue awareness

Good Evening Dear Ones,

Happy Keeping the Faith Friday Fearlessly without fretting. I'm sending love, prayers, blessings, and comfort to all this day.

This is our mission this weekend if we choose to accept it and it is this, we are to take this time for holy respite and becoming aware how being compassionate can cause us fatigue. We all have become whether we like our not caregivers to this fragile and broken world. To do this we need to go off the grid and enjoy nature, our families, art and music and taking time to rest and recharge our batteries. Caregivers do find themselves suffering compassion fatigue and that is when we need to draw back and bank our energies and learn to say "No!"  You do know that you can give yourself permission to say "No" don't you? You do and we do! This has been a terrible time for all of us and if you haven't been touched or affected in some way or other with the event this week you must be living in a cave or under a rock. So we must follow the example of Jesus and take our leave and go across the lake and pray and rest. It is the best thing we can do for our bodies, minds, and spirits. When we do this we can be much more equipped to be helpers and caregivers to all of our brothers and sisters.

Tonight as we begin our time of prayer vigil and prayers, let us remember last evening's questions we are pondering and we need to add one more question it is in bold. Keep brainstorming and don't forget it is time to place your items in the Worry Sabbath Box.

Each of us have gifts and skills that God has given us and we need to tap into our spiritual and mental reservoir to draw them out of the well of the Waters of Life.  Her are a few questions we should ponder and yes we all need to take time to do this now and in the days and weeks to come?

What is G__D, Jesus, Allah, or your chosen deity calling you to do?  If you don't have any faith or belief system what is your heart calling you to do?

What can I give freely?

Is this for show or am I going to be able to keep my good works secret from the world?

What are my gifts?

What can I do right now?

When I act am I going to be afraid and look funny doing it?

Do I have courage to go out of my comfort zone?

What is the requisite energy level needed for the sharing of these gifts and am I adding too many more things to my all ready full plate? Don't do it if you have problems with fatigue and want to be seen as Mr., Ms, Mrs., Miss Busy or the Energizer Bunny. We need you to be healthy and in good spiritual shape.
These are your questions. We must consider being the hands, feet, ears, shoulders, voices, for God and each other. This is what we must do and must be. Tomorrow we will construct a list and see how far we go into brainstorming.

Are we ready to be loving and caring helpers to a fragile and broken world starting here, starting now? Let us think and pray on these things and act.

Holy God we come before you this night to light our candles and pray for those who are tired sorrowful, emotionally drained, and without enough energy to face the next crises. We pray for the many medical caregivers who are taking care of the survivors of violence in Orlando and any place where violence and hate have occurred in the past few hours. We remember tonight the families of those who lost their lives as they prepare for the many memorial and funeral services. We pray especially for the clergy as they pastor the bereaved and those in fear and in anguish. We pray this weekend for the safety of all bars that serve the LGBT communities  that they may begin finding them a place for safety and sanctuary. We pray for safety in our homes, streets, social establishments that there won't be any more acts of gun violence. We pray this weekend for respite and more awareness of compassion fatigue and that we will stop the glorification of busy. We pray this night that we will rest well and be ready to spend more time with you tomorrow. God keep us safely in your arms this weekend and may we take time to become your arms, feet, hands, ears, eyes, and voices to your fragile and broken world. We light these candles as we pray and remember each by name and we also remember those who lost their lives in Charleston last year at Mother Emmanuel Church.
We pray for the victims by Name and pause for a moment.
