The necessity of finding sanctuary!

Good evening dearly loved family!

Happy take care Tuesday! I hope all is well! These past few weeks I have been finding it necessary to seek sanctuary outside of my house due to having the luxury or should I say not so good luck of having 3 Televisions and their addicting properties. Yes addicting properties with everything that has been happening in our nation and the world. I find myself  driving down to the church and finding it not only a sanctuary but a place where my spirit it thriving and at peace. We all must find such a place. Our souls and heart homes can become places of sanctuaries too but for whatever reason we find our inner beings less and less inviting due to all the inner noise. This chatter has got to go. So where to we find sanctuary? Let's do a little bit of brainstorming!

Here are places on my list:

Church
Outdoors
Art Galleries
Healing Gardens
Labyrinths
Beaches
Back road drives near wineries
Hospital Chapels
Missions in California
Maybe a bookstore or coffee house.
Gay bar

Those are my places, where are yours?  We need sanctuary time now more than ever and yes that means we may have to give up the gridded life and see what's beyond the internet.  Tonight let us make our home our sanctuary.

Let us sit still and breathe.

Close your eyes and repeat the word peace until you feel relaxed and ready for prayer.

God, we come to you this night as tired, rattled, and emotionally fraught children in need of  a place of sanctuary. Help us we pray to light our candles and find our lives with you and resting peaceably in your arms as we offer these our prayers to you. We pray that all of us may take time to find sanctuary wherever we can. We pray for all of your children who are seeking a place of sanctuary after the events in Orlando. We pray that all places of sanctuary may be safe, peaceful, and away from the hustle and bustle of all things. We pray that in these places we may be able if we aren't able to, to live and be authentically who you have made us to be. We pray that We pray for sanctuaries for our family members who are refugees, on the margins, We pray that our countries and all nations may be a place of sanctuary for their residents and the aliens in their midst. We pray that this night all of those touched by violence remembering Istanbul and Orlando may find sanctuary. We pray for an end to all forms of violence, bullying, and verbal discord  We continue to pray for all of our chronically ill people who are in need of sanctuary  so that they may accept your healing O,God.  God let us light our candles and quiet our minds, hearts, and spirits so that we may enter into this time of sanctuary. God keep reminding us that even Jesus went across the lake to pray. We lift up these our prayers and lighten our hearts and may we find sanctuary within you O, God. Amen.

Our additional time of prayer and rest.

Dear Family of Love an Pilgrims on Our Journey

Dear Lord we continue to pray for all those who are still affected by any kind of weather especially those who need to be out in it. We remember especially the homeless, hungry, those who lack safe transportation, and those who are working in the cold, snowy, and rainy conditions. Watch over them Lord and keep them safe.

We pray for the people of Syria and pray for an end to all armed conflict and that there may be peaceful regime change.

We pray for all those who need to step up and be caregivers when our family members who are far away need help.

We pray for all those who are preparing for worship in your sanctuary tomorrow or any sanctuary where we find you in the quiet of our being. We pray for our family members who will proclaim the Gospel  may do so with clarity We pray that we may respond and become servants and laborers in your vineyard and kingdom according to your will O God.

We pray for all women, children, and the most vulnerable.

We pray for all of us who continue to grieve any kind of loss.

We pray for all who are seeking employment and for employers to take risks and hire those who are the long term unemployed.

We pray for all living things and especially all the wild life and pets that are affected by the cold weather and the drought.

We pray for all our family members whose voices have been silenced and drowned out by those who do not listen. We pray that we may be in solidarity with the voiceless and speak truth to power with them.

This night please add your prayers, thanksgivings, celebrations, and remembrances.

We also pray for all those who have asked us for prayers and the many circumstances that surround each and that we may knit an ever widening prayer circle around this your Family O Lord. Amen.

A Prayer attributed to St. Francis

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.

We offer these prayers in the name of God the Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier. Amen.
