Good Evening Beloved Community!
Happy retreat weekend! Today was one of those days when I needed to slow it down and take it slow and easy, step by step, and prayer by prayer. I had a time where rest was the order of the day and I knew that I would have to wait to engage my legs and go out into the world and walk to drop off paper work at the Department of Social Services because they needed it by the 5 and the odds of the mail getting there were slim and none. So I walked to the DSS and I was glad I chose the route I did because I saw one of our parishioners who hadn't been in church for awhile. I was so happy! Pastoral care on foot often happens too. Yesterday a friend of mine and I took the sacrament to a parishioner in San Luis Obispo who is in a board and care. Opportunities abound. Meanwhile back to today, I stopped by the blood bank and found out when I could donate plasma again. 30 days! So I'd say today turned out pretty nice. I also could get groceries because my SNAP EBT card was renewed for May. I have been resting ever since. Why am I telling you all of this? The reason is because we all are entitled to change up our routine and stop the glorification of busy. Tonight's worship and prayer time will reflect that. So this weekend take it slow and easy, step by step, and prayer by prayer and breathe.
