God hear the prayers of your people! A prayer vigil in the midst of intercessory prayer.

Dear Family of Love!

Sorry this is a tad bit too late but I went to a meeting tonight and had a late and fun dinner with 5 new friends of mine. Part of what we talk about daily is self-care and we definitely need it now more than ever and that means we have to go off the grid and socialize. Our electronic devices take us away from regular human contact. We must do this for our bodies, minds, and spirits. Many of you and I must admit I have fallen into the trap of watching all the political reality TV shows and waiting to see what Donald Trump does next. I urge us all not to give this person our attention and certainly not our energy and more than an occasional time of day. If DT is taking up more time in your life than God, our family members, and ourselves I contend that we have become unhealthy and voyeuristic. We need to do God's work for God's world and become like Jesus and stop the hate, fear, and expending our love energy in the wrong places toward the wrong people. Got it? I hope so. Taking care of ourselves involves prayer and vigiling. That is what we must do before we take our rest.

God hear the prayers of your people as we light our candles and pray.

God we come to you with spirits filled with confusion and frayed nerves we pray that we may learn how to take care of ourselves in the right way. God hear the prayers of your people.

God, we come to you with our prayers for all those who are addicted to the negative aspects of social media may we learn to have balance and use these tools in the right way to your glory and in your service. God hear the prayers of your people.

God we come to you needing your gentle taps on our shoulder that we may be directed towards the right way to care for the least of these. God, hear the prayers of your people.

God we come to you and bring our tired bodies, minds, and spirits that we may find rest and healing.
God, hear the prayers of your people.

God, we come to  you seeking ways that we may be bridge builders and peacemakers. God hear the prayers of your people.

God we come to you with hearts on fire to serve you and all human and living beings in love, kindness, joy, mercy, and in the willingness of our being. God hear the prayers of your people.

God, we come to you seeking ways to lay down hatred, division, terror, violence, and all things that draw us away from you and each other. God hear the prayers of your people.

God we come to you at the very core of our beings that we may stand in your loving presence and that tonight we may become your CALM (Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful) Children.
God hear the prayers of your people.

God we come to you and add or additional prayers, thanksgivings, remembrances, and celebrations_____________ God hear the prayers of your people.

God we come to you and light our single candle in love, prayer, and in union with you, each other and ourselves. God  hear the prayers of your people.

God we come to you in the stillness to lay down our days worries and rest.

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

God, hear the prayers of your people.

These prayers may be added as well.

Find peace at the center, pray for peace, and feel God bathing you with love, mercy, joy, and peace. Rest in the Lord and let all the worries, anxieties, and nagging thoughts be released! Let go and let God do the work.
Sheep May Safely Graze

Dear Jesus Son of God and blessed Redeemer we pray this this night for peace in your homeland that all the violence and divisions may cease and that in the words of the Prophet Isaiah :

And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.—Isaiah 2:3–4

May it be so and may we become peacemakers one to another and that we may finally be the loving family of  God  that you have commanded us to be.

We pray for all your children who are homeless, hungry, oppressed, refugees, and in need of loving families.

Jesus, we pray for our family members who are the least of these may we rise to the occasion and lovingly come to their aid.

Jesus, pray for all caregivers of any kind. Give them respite and the courage to take care of themselves.

Jesus, we pray for all of our family members who have lost loved ones and that they may find loving comfort and solace.

Jesus, we pray for all of our family members who are ill and that they may be healed of all their infirmities.

Jesus, we come before you with our prayers, thanksgivings, remembrances, and celebrations.

Jesus, we pray for all those who are discerning vocations to ministry and new life paths.

Jesus, may we all give our family members a soft place to fall, gifts of courage, strength, and kindness. Help us give freely our friendship and add them to our own great and beautiful extended family, where there is no hate, only love.

Jesus, we pray for all who travel and that they may feel your holy protection around them.

Jesus, we pray that we may find rest, relaxation, refreshment, and renewal of our bodies, minds, and spirits!

In the name of Jesus Christ our Redeemer who loves us  and makes us whole , we offer our prayers to Him.Amen.
