The Olympics and Praying for Peace with An Olympic Prayer vigil during the Opening Ceremonies!

Dear Family!

I wanted to thank you for your prayers. The pain has lessened and I have been able to rest and even go to Cancer Rehab this afternoon. No pool time though but I am feeling better Thanks Be To God.
We have a lot to be thankful for. Tonight we will be praying along with the Olympics parade of nations for peace.

Watching the Olympics opening ceremonies while writing this blog gives way to praying for the world. Let us light our candles and pray for the peace of the world and our family members.

 God, Seeing Bangladesh reminds us to pray yet again for Dhaka and the people who are still in mourning. The parade of nations continue as we remember and pray for Belgium. We pray for all nations great and small. We pray for our brothers and sisters from all over the world.  We pray for the lands that gave us knowledge and literacy. We pray for the nations who have sent athletes  that they may be safe and secure. We pray for Burundi who we prayed for in the special season of prayer during the Easter Season. We pray for Bhutan the Happiest place on earth where prayer and meditation is spread throughout the land with rich candles, Buddhas, Prayer Flags, and Prayer wheels aplenty. We pray for all our brothers and sisters who have come from Africa and remember those who came to this country in slave ships  and who now are shining a story that connects us in a sad way with the sub continent. We pray for peace in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar that  terrorist operations may cease.  We pray for the Central African Republic who was one of our special areas we prayed for. We pray and give thanks for all our family members of the world. We pray for the Dalai Lama and the people of Tibet who are prohibited by China for being an independent country and branch of Buddhism.  We pray and give thanks for all people who practice different faiths from ours that help make us a rich family. We pray for the Democratic Republic of Congo yet another country and people we prayed for during the Easter Season.  We pray for this night for all countries that do not have a good relationship with their neighbors remembering South Korea and North Korea. We pray for the rich cultures that make us a loving and shining family one to another. We pray for our island neighbor Cuba. We pray and give thanks for God's Cathedral of Life and that we may be good stewards of God's Creation animal, mineral, and humanity. We pray and give thanks for the many countries where civilization and learning was born.  We pray for countries where wars have happened and are still occurring. We give thanks for the love and unity we are seeing this night. We give thanks  for smiles that are our daily form of lighting a candle and shining a light to the world and showing God to others with our faces. We give thanks for the country of Micronesia the smallest and farthest  area in Province VIII in the Episcopal Church.We give thanks for all kinds of sport for people to participate in. As the parade of nations continue we pray this night in the words of St. Francis of Assisi :

Prayers from the BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER.

 A Prayer attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.

For the Human Family

O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us
through Jesus your Son: Look with compassion on the whole
human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which
infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us
unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and
confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in
your good time, all nations and races may serve you in
harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen

For Peace
Eternal God, in whose perfect kingdom no sword is drawn
but the sword of righteousness, no strength known but the
strength of love: So mightily spread abroad your Spirit, that
all peoples may be gathered under the banner of the Prince of
Peace, as children of one Father; to whom be dominion and
glory, now and for ever. Amen.

For Peace Among the Nations
Almighty God our heavenly Father, guide the nations of the
world into the way of justice and truth, and establish among
them that peace which is the fruit of righteousness, that they
may become the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen.

 For our Enemies
O God, the Father of all, whose Son commanded us to love
our enemies: Lead them and us from prejudice to truth;
deliver them and us from hatred, cruelty, and revenge; and in
your good time enable us all to stand reconciled before you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
