Dear Family of Love,
We all have been through quite a bit tonight with the events in Ferguson. I haven't any words of wisdom to impart but maybe writing this blog will help us to make sense of it all. Tonight It felt like all the verdicts and grand jury decisions in the past replaying. We saw this with Rodney King, Trayvon Martin, and now with Michael Brown Jr. We have become inured by these events so much that there is a numbness that we all feel. Some of us stay calm and some of us take matters into our own hands violently. Violence, looting, and non peaceful protesting doesn't solve anything I think we all need to take stock of where we are as a country. We find ourselves again and again being confronted by a dirty little secret ! We as a country have racist tendencies, and all the isms and all the phobias too many to place in an average telephone book. We need to look in the mirror and see this as the truth and there is no use sugar coating it. God doesn't want us to act like this towards our family members. Yes, even our family members whose skin tone is not lily white, religious beliefs aren't the same as ours, and not to mention sexual orientation, and gender identity. God made each one of us in God's image and likeness! It never ceases to amaze me that we keep repeating history and and not learning from it. God is calling us to do better. God is calling us to love and see God in every face and personage on the planet. We are not left off the hook by any means. We don't get to pick and choose whom we love as members of the family of God. Remember we are all the least of these. and that we all must love and serve each other and see God in each of our faces be they black, green, pink, or polka dot. We as the Children of God must take this opportunity to stand up for what is right, be the voice for the voiceless, speak truth to power, and don't be afraid to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. We must see every one and every living thing as a holy being. So tonight dear family of love we need to take stock, meditate , and write down all the biases, isms, and phobias that are infecting our world and place them into the Worry/ Sabbath box If you have biases, isms, or phobias add them too. We need to rid ourselves and the world of these. While you add them to the Worry/Sabbath Box ask God to help you let go of them . Say to yourself : Let Go and Let God. After this let us take time to find peace at the center and seek God in our inner being.
Use of our mindfulness tools are optional.

Gracious and loving God we come to you this night with hearts that are battered and bruised. Heal our broken spirits O God and especially the Brown Family, The people of Ferguson,Missouri.
God help us to banish far from us all ism and phobia. Help us to love with out fear and lovingly accept all or you children as our precious and wanted family members.
God help us to calm all those things that are keeping us from resting gentle in your arms this night.
God give us courage to speak truth to power and in the words of the prophet Isaiah:
they shall beat their swords into ploughshares,
and their spears into pruning-hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war any more.
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war any more.
God we pray for peace in our hearts and in this your fragile and broken world.
God give to us an awareness of all your precious children who are living on the margins of society.
God give us grace and love to serve you and all of our family members.
God we pray for peace in our cites, towns, and nations.
God we pray for all of the things we placed into the Worry/Sabbath box.
May we let them go and let you in our hearts to stay.
God we pray for _________________________
God we remember this day all those who have died in senseless acts of violence.
God we pray for rain to heal all the drought parched areas of the world and in California.
God we pray for all who are traveling this week May you surround each vehicle with ring of protection.
God we pray that we may continually knit a prayer circle around this world, country, Ferguson, and all the war torn areas of the world.
God we lift these our prayers in the name of your only Son Jesus, our redeemer, healer, reconciler, brother and friend. Amen.
