Take Care Tuesday Means Take Care You Day! Time to earnestly slow down ! Pre- holiday mindfulness!

Dear Family of  Love,

Happy Take Care Tuesday! I hope everyone is being intentional about taking care of  yourselves and others. I don't know why but this time of year we find ourselves in the midst of unnecessary stress and needless worry. I hope everyone is as I wrote in a previous blog pacing yourselves and slowing down. Whenever I'm out and about driving around town these days I see drivers who are in a speed demon kind of hurry. This is unsafe for them and us. So dear ones slow down and take time. God didn't create everything in the blink of an eye. God took time and did it deliberately with intention and as they say 'decently and in order" We are fast approaching Thanksgiving in a week and that means lots of shopping, eating, and the annual meeting with whomever is family to you. We need to approach this holiday by slowing down and treating it with reverence and giving thanks. I'm suggesting that we all need to be more thoughtful and thankful beginning this week and beyond. Let's begin listing all the things that we must take time to do slowly this season and beyond. I think it will give us a way in which we can meditate more fully during the coming weeks. You may take out your timers, mindfulness apps, or meditation music. Tonight's meditation music is this: Yo Yo Ma and Bobby McFerrin Hush Little Baby Album Enjoy!

What things can I take time and slow down for:

Checking my surroundings and making sure doors of  house and car are locked
Getting ready to go out each day
Driving the speed limit and taking care in the car
Being deliberate in cooking and preparing food.
Taking time to be slow and reverent in meditation and prayer time.
Not rushing through life.
Taking time to listen to others with attention and caring.
Taking time to be with our families and not be rushing out the door.
Taking time to eat our food and not gobbling it down.
Being more reverent in serving God at the altar as a LEM (Lay Eucharistic Minister)
Watching my step and being mindful of curbs and sidewalks.
Being mindful of where I put things in my briefcase or purse.
Being intentional where I put my keys when I come home. Finding a place to keep things safely.
This is just for openers. How did you do?

God help us to slow down and be more mindful as we go through all the hustle and bustle of  this season and beyond.

God help us to be more reverent in our devotion and worship to you at church, home, out and about and in your Cathedral of Life.

God help us to take time to care for ourselves and others, being mindful of our needs and our family members.

God help us to be attentive to all of our family members who are ill. Help us to be co-healers with you and that they may know that they are loved and cared for. May we be mindful of all of their struggles in body, mind, and spirit.

God give us courage to examine all the facts in the daily news cycle and speak truth to power.

God give us the mind of your Son Jesus Christ and model our lives after Him.

God give us the courage to lovingly respond and care for your children who are the least of these.

God make us to be the peacemakers that you need us to be to help love, heal, and care for your world and may we lovingly respond to the needs of all  of our family members who are victims of war, violence, terror, and human trafficking.

God give us an awareness of those things that cause us  to be a divided  world and may we learn what it means to be truly your family.

God we pray for all faith leaders who need the courage to learn how to be united in love, peace, and harmony and accept belief systems that may differ from their own.

God we pray for all who are seeking employment and discerning new life paths.

God we offer our prayers and thanksgivings to you for ourselves and on behalf of those who have asked us to pray and those who haven't the courage to ask for prayers.

God we lift up these our prayers, thanksgivings, celebrations, and remembrances in the Name of your Son Jesus our redeemer, healer, reconciler, brother and friend. Amen.
