Being in kinship with ourselves and allowing us to love ourselves at the same time! A new kind of neighbor.

Dear Family of Love!

Today was a monumental day for Walk With me On Our Journey! We had 153 page views and  we have gone over 21,000 page views ! I am humbled, teary-eyed and amazed beyond belief. This blog is God driven, Spirit Inspired. We are all united in this blog together as we are bound to each other in love and inclusion as a family. Today we continue our challenge to be united in kinship with God, The Earth, Living things , and With each other, and ourselves.  What does it mean to be in kinship with ourselves? It simply means that we learn to love ourselves and cut ourselves much needed slack.  There's a reason why we have our somewhat quirky Holy Days of the Week that we use  in this blog. For those of you who may be new to Walk With Me On Our Journey we have this holy day schema that gives us a daily framework. Here it is :  You Matter Monday, Take Care Tuesday, Wonderful and Wonder-filled Wednesday, Being Thoughtful and Thankful Thursday, Keeping the Faith Friday Fearlessly Without Fretting, Self-Care Saturday, and Sabbath Care Sunday. Each one of these days are designed to honor the body, mind, and spirit that God gave each of us. It takes us  from being overly stressed, worried, and fearful, to being rested, relaxed, refreshed , and renewed and loving ourselves as God loves us and not to mention our neighbor. I'm going to go out on a limb here and  suggest that we become neighbors to ourselves. It isn't an easy task but it might and will help bridge the divide between our neighbor neighbors and our family members throughout the world. If we don't start being a loving neighbor and family member  to ourselves we will never become family members and neighbors to Gods Family throughout the world. Remember this passage from:1 John 4:7-21

God Is Love

Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.

By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father has sent his Son as the Saviour of the world. God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God. So we have known and believe the love that God has for us.

God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness on the day of judgement, because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love. We love because he first loved us. Those who say, ‘I love God’, and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also.
*******
So dear ones, let us take off the shackles of  fear and put on the glistening and warm cloak of love. When we do this we will no longer be enslaved by fear, hated and all things that do not build up and divide.

Tonight let us take time to reflect how we are going to become a  neighbor to ourselves!  Let us listen to this Hildegard of Bingen Voice of the Living Light and go deeper into the center and find peace.

Loving God, help us to become  loving family members and neighbors to ourselves and others.

Loving God enfold you loving arms around the least of these and especially all those who are homeless and without shelter, clothing, or food. Protect them during the night hours and  keep watch overt their few worldly goods.

Loving God, we pray for all children of the world that they my be loved, protected and treasured. We pray for all children who are ill and living with chronic illnesses.

Loving God, we  pray this night for all who are in need of healing of their bodies, minds, and spirits.

Loving God, give us courage to serve you wherever you may lead us. We pray especially for our family members who are seeking better employment.

Loving God, let us seek to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with you. May we be given courage to speak truth to power and practice peaceful nonviolent protesting. We remember especially Ferguson, Hong Kong and all places in this world who are protesting.

Loving God, give us courage to become peacemakers and be united as one family under You.

Loving God send down showers of peace to this your broken and fragile world especially to  Syria, Iraq, and all war torn areas of the world.

Loving God, we pray that cures to all diseases my be found and that health may be returned to all.

Loving God we pray for rain in all drought parched areas of the world and in our own neighborhood.

Loving God, we pray for all who have asked us for prayer remembering ____________________

Loving God, we pray for an end to all violence, war,,hate, abuse, and all forms of  harm that they may be vanquished and that love, peace, and protection may prevail up the Earth.

Loving God, we pry for all who mourn the lose of loved ones and pets.

Loving God we entrust to you those who are dying and those who have died today. We pray that they received a loving welcome into the Thin Places by you and all their relatives, angels, and saints.

We  pray this additional prayer from Stephen J. Robin a friend of mine who is a minister and on the front lines of peaceful nonviolent protest in Ferguson Missouri,

"Lord, as night draws in and lights turned on, we pray for the 109 (one hundred and nine) people who have been killed in this region so far this year. We pray for their families and friends whose lives will never be the same. We pray for your peace that passes all understanding to come to this region tonight and tomorrow. Amen."

We lift up these our prayers in the Name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.
