New and exciting adventures on our journey

Dear Family of  Love !

Today was the first day I had the opportunity to take Walk With Me On Our Journey on the road for  a quiet day. It was an amazing day for the DOK sisters who heard it and for me who led it. God is blessing this blog daily.  As I said on Facebook Walk With Me On Our Journey has legs. We all must see life as an exciting journey choreographed by God. God places our feet wherever God needs them and every place we walk is holy even bowling alleys,convenience stores, and yes even your locally owned and operated hardware store. There are lots of opportunities to minister to our family members wherever we go and whatever we are doing . Sometimes having an outgoing attitude with a smile is all that it takes to make someone's day and change their mood or attitude. God calls us to be the light of the world and that means we need to be loving, glowing examples of inclusion, and soft and warm places in which to fall whenever our family members need it. We are to be beacons of hope, peace, joy, and love always. We don't get a bye one this one. Tonight let us prepare for our Sabbath Care day and reflect upon this day. If you haven't already done so please place your worries, anxieties, fears, etc in the Worry/ Sabbath box and don't open til Monday Evening.  Here is the text I would like us all to meditate on;

1 Corinthians 13:4-8New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

4 Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.

Take your time and let's find peace at the center and listen to what  God is saying to us at the very core of our being.

Tonight's mediation music is this: Paul Winter - Journey with the Sun . Choose one or more musical pieces to meditate with.

Gracious God you place our feet and lives on holy ground each day that we live, move, and just  be. May we feel your presence as you guide our steps and lives where you are calling us to be.

Gracious God we pray that as we walk this journey with you that we may always looking for opportunities to serve you.

Gracious God we pray this night for the least of these that we may become like the Good Samaritan and  come to their aid and lovingly minister unto them.

Gracious God we pray that we may be more loving, giving, inclusive. We pray that we may be more, more, and more of  all that you want us to be.

Gracious God we pray that we may spread your message of Good News to all we meet not in our words solely but in our deeds.

Gracious God we pray for all who are ill  that they may receive your healing touch and that even if they aren't cured of their illness they may learn to live with it with grace and courage.

Gracious God we pray for peace and that wars  may cease throughout our land and in all nations.

Gracious God we pray for rain and that we may be conservators of Your Cathedral of  Life.

Gracious God we pray for all those who have asked us for prayer especially______________

Gracious God we pray that you continue to challenge us to speak for the voiceless, do justly, love mercy, and humbly follow your lead and be given strength and courage to hunger and thirst after righteousness all the days we live.

Gracious God we pray for the renewal of our bodies, minds, and spirits that we may greet the new day  with energy to serve you and others with gladness.

Gracious God we lift up these our prayers in the name of Your Son ,Jesus the Christ. Amen.

For those of you who follow the lectionary we celebrate this day the Feast of St. Luke the Evangelist.

Here is the Collect/ Prayer of the Day as found in the BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER

Almighty God, who inspired your servant Luke the physician to set forth in the Gospel the love and healing power of your Son: Graciously continue in your Church this love and power to heal, to the praise and glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Ecclesiasticus 38:1-4,6-10,12-14

Honor physicians for their services,
for the Lord created them;
for their gift of healing comes from the Most High,
and they are rewarded by the king.
The skill of physicians makes them distinguished,
and in the presence of the great they are admired.
The Lord created medicines out of the earth,
and the sensible will not despise them.
And he gave skill to human beings
that he might be glorified in his marvelous works.
By them the physician heals and takes away pain;
the pharmacist makes a mixture from them.
God's works will never be finished;
and from him health spreads over all the earth.
My child, when you are ill, do not delay,
but pray to the Lord, and he will heal you.
Give up your faults and direct your hands rightly,
and cleanse your heart from all sin.
Then give the physician his place, for the Lord created him;
do not let him leave you, for you need him.
There may come a time when recovery lies in the hands of physicians,
for they too pray to the Lord
that he grant them success in diagnosis
and in healing, for the sake of preserving life.

2 Timothy 4:5-13

As for you, always be sober, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, carry out your ministry fully.
As for me, I am already being poured out as a libation, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Do your best to come to me soon, for Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful in my ministry. I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus. When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all the parchments.

Luke 4:14-21

Jesus, filled with the power of the Spirit, returned to Galilee, and a report about him spread through all the surrounding country. He began to teach in their synagogues and was praised by everyone.
When he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, he went to the synagogue on the sabbath day, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written:
'The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
And he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. Then he began to say to them, "Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."
