Taking time for prayers and giving thanks on Being Thoughtful and Thankful Thursday!

Dear Family of Love,

This is the time of the week where we are winding down towards our period of Self-Care and Sabbath Rest. This period will be like none other because we are getting ready to be in the on deck circle awaiting Lent's return. This is a time of waiting and preparing for Ash Wednesday to arrive and preparing our hearts, minds, and spirits to do the same. Lent is not a time to fine tune your New Year's resolutions if indeed you bothered to make any. This is a time of introspection and prayer. We find ourselves as we age not knowing what we are to do each passing year as Lent arrives. That is why I suggest that we all take this time until Ash Wednesday to begin our spiritual warm up and let go and let God do the driving. We need to let God in our hearts and that may mean more time for prayer, meditation, thanksgiving, and mindfulness. Our bodies, minds, and spirits need this especially since we have all kinds of grating things in the news  and in our lives that make us tense and sometimes angry. This period and as we move on into Lent should be dedicated to practicing random acts of kindness, radical love and welcome, and being CALM ( Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful) and yes even a willingness to love our enemies, do good to those who hate us, and forgive.  Wow! That's quite a bit to put on our plates! But we all need to do it! Once we do we will be free and more able to shine the Love and Light of God to this the fragile and broken world in which we live, move, and just be! Let us not waste time and be at the business of God and stop the glorification of busy at this present moment.

Time to begin with our "Be Stills!"

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Peace be still.

Breathe in God's Goodness,
Breathe out all anxiety and worry.

Pause.

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Peace be still.

Breathe in God's Goodness,
Breathe out all anxiety and worry.

Pause.

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Peace be still.

Breathe in God's Goodness,
Breathe out all anxiety and worry.

Pause.

Dear Ones Let us take time for our Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigil. Let us light our candles and be at prayer. Tonight let us take time to offer our thanksgivings as part of our prayer time. Let us  remember this night our family members who are living on the margins and in need of help. Let us Remember to pray for all cancer patients, caregivers, family members of cancer patients, survivors, oncology nurses, oncologists, radiation techs, radiation oncologists, and researchers on  this World Cancer Day. Let us continue to pray for an end to hatred, violence, bigotry, and disunity. We pray for peace, love, and justice and universal human rights and equality for all of our family members wherever they may be.

Today's Wish as it was written in FB and an adaptation from last year's blog.

Happy Being Thoughtful and Thankful Thursday! As many of you know I have been writing daily wishes or inspirational quotes practically daily. Tonight I would like share with you the current wish at the end of the day to bring you into the next ;Today's wish: Go out ! Pay it forward, Practice Random Acts of Kindness, Bring Joy and love to others! That is what God calls us to do each and every day that we live, move, and be. We aren't let off the hook with this one as family members. This is a good wind up for Lent that will start in 7 days! . We need to become bolder in our approach to loving and caring for all of our family members no matter who they are.

God give us courage to go out into your world on your behalf to serve you and all our family members.

God help us to continue to pay it forward from the depths of our hearts.

God give us the tools to practice random acts of kindness and that we may use them with our hearts and for the good of all.

God may we bring joy and love to others without fear and help us to do this boldly, but gently.

God we pray that we may go out and serve the least of these with love, joy, and mercy.

God we pray in thanksgiving for all the many blessings you have abundantly given us this day remembering especially____________

God we pray that as we pay it forward this fragile world of yours may be renewed into the loving world  you created.

God we pray that we may practice random acts of kindness by accepting your invitation to do this with joy, love, hope, and peace.

God we pray that as we bring joy and love to others we may see you in our family members faces and in the lights in their eyes.

God we pray for all who mourn may we go out and comfort them.

God we pray for all who are dying and who have died that we may continue their legacy of giving by paying it forward.

God we pray for ourselves and on behalf of others by not only with our spoken prayers but in our prayers in the form of random acts of kindness.

We lift up these our prayers in Jesus' name who taught us many things that are contained in today's wish Go out ! Pay it forward, Practice Random Acts of Kindness, Bring Joy and love to others!. Amen.
