Wilderness Week Day 4! Going deeper with courage and strength when we are set upon the Pinnacles of The Temples in our own lives

Dear Family of Love!

Happy Being Thoughtful and Thankful Thursday! Wow we are halfway through our wilderness journey. Tonight we get to pause and go deeper as we prepare for our self-care and Sabbath Rest weekend.

Our assignment was this:
Today's  Keyword and Concept:Find out what the Pinnacle of the Temple Looks like.
To ponder tomorrow or this evening: How can you apply the word famished to our main theme of the week: Taking time by serving the least of these by taking on________________?

I hope you Googled what the Pinnacle of the Temple looks like, if not here is a picture.

I don't know about you but I'm very glad that Jesus wasn't afraid of heights!  Can you imagine how you'd feel if the Devil did this to you? I know that I wouldn't like it. What kind of resolve do we need when we face our demons as we are set on the Pinnacles of the temples in our own lives? Courage and strength and a faith that is strong. That is why we must go deeper and drink from the living waters and receive the wonderful and life giving manna in the wilderness  tonight as we listen and journey to our heart homes and spend time in the presence of God our creator.

Let's engage in our "Be Stills"

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Slowly inhale.
Hold.
Slowly exhale

Pause. Count to 10.

Repeat 4 times!

Now sit quietly and reflect up the day past and enjoy your visit with God. Open wide your heart homes and feel God filling you up with Love Energy.

Let us spend some additional time hearing music from Taize Songs for Lent 2015

Dear Ones it is time to turn our hearts and minds and light our candles and be at prayer as we continue with our Virtual Candle Light Prayer Vigil. Tonight we pray for courage, strength and faith when we encounter life's struggles. We pray for the least of these who are struggling to live without food clothing and shelter. We continue to pray for peace and that we may be peacemakers one to another and to the whole world in which we live, move and just be. We pray this night that we remain CALM (compassionate, accepting loving, and merciful).

God grant us courage and strength to go deeper in our relationship with you. Help us to continue to have faith the size of a mustard seed and not be afraid to be in your presence.

God grant us courage and strength to speak truth to power when we are called to do so.

God grant us courage and strength to reach out to our family members who differ from us  without fear.

God grant us courage and strength to go into the desert and renew our bodies  minds, and spirits and listen to you with the ears of our hearts.

God grant us courage and strength to go where you call us even up unto the pinnacles of  the temples in our lives.

God grant us courage and strength to lovingly respond to the cries of your children who are in need nearby and far away.

God grant us courage and strength to be the children of God you have made us to be.

God grant us the courage and strength to stand with the voiceless ones and do as in the words of Micah- Do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God..

God grant us the courage, strength to show and reflect your love, shine your light, and spread your Gospel message to a fragile and broken world.

God we pray for an end to violence, bigotry, terror, and all things that draw us away from you and each other.

God we pray for all refugees ,victims of violence of any kind ,the most vulnerable and those you name now.

God we pray for the families of those who are led to commit acts of terror that they may be comforted

God we pray for all who live with chronic mental and physical illnesses of any kind. We pray for____________.

God we pray and give thanks for _____________________ on this Being Thoughtful and Thankful Thursday.

As we close our worship this night we remember these prayers.

The  Beatitudes  Matthew 5:3–12

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. (5:3)
Blessed are those who mourn: for they will be comforted. (5:4)
Blessed are the meek: for they will inherit the earth. (5:5)
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they will be filled. (5:6)
Blessed are the merciful: for they will be shown mercy. (5:7)
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they will see God. (5:8)
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they will be called children of God. (5:9)
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (5:10

A Prayer attributed to St. Francis

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.

The Song of Mary    Magnificat
 Luke 1:46-55
My soul doth magnify the Lord, *
and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior.
For he hath regarded *
    the lowliness of his handmaiden.
For behold from henceforth *
all generations shall call me blessed.
For he that is mighty hath magnified me, *
    and holy is his Name.
And his mercy is on them that fear him *
    throughout all generations.
He hath showed strength with his arm; *
he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He hath put down the mighty from their seat, *
and hath exalted the humble and meek.
He hath filled the hungry with good things, *
and the rich he hath sent empty away.
He remembering his mercy hath holpen his servant Israel, *
as he promised to our forefathers,
Abraham and his seed for ever.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: *
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.

The Song of Simeon    Nunc Dimittis

Luke 2:29-32

Lord, you now have set your servant free *
    to go in peace as you have promised;
For these eyes of mine have seen the Savior, *
whom you have prepared for all the world to see:
A Light to enlighten the nations, *
and the glory of your people Israel.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: *
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.

You are welcome to take a virtual labyrinth walk with your mouse if you so desire.
