God is........... Our bodies are.............. We are............... Finish these sentences and what do you find?

Dear Family of Love,

Happy Take Care Tuesday! I hope that we all spent sometime doing just that. Please remember that our bodies hold our souls and that in turn makes them sacred vessels made by a loving and merciful god. Tonight I challenge us to write a list and spend time completing these sentences: I will give you an example. Please use your imagination and own words to complete these sentences in tonight's meditation. Try to use single words if you can under the sentence.

God is...............................................
Love
Merciful
Parent
Just
Peacemaker
Creative
Kind
Compassionate
Transcendent
Joy
Infinite
Empowering
Enlivening
Life
Beautiful
Sacred
Holy
Strong
Embracing

Our bodies are ..................................
Holy
Good
Beautiful
Strong
Made in God's image
Temples
Energetic
Tired
Fatigued
Healthy
Cases for our souls
Made to be loving

We are...............................................
Family
Friends
Neighbors
Loving
Kind
Merciful
Good
Human
Holy People
Light
Joyful
Children of God

There may be more to add to these sentence completions but it is a start: Let us add to them daily. Don't get hung up on the word order or the  thoughts that appear.

Now let us be at prayer using prayers from one of the past blogs having to do with honoring our bodies:

Gracious and loving God we pray this night for all who have lost loved ones . We pray for our family members who have died. May they Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory.

We pray for peace in the world and an end to war, violence, and terror. May we continue to be  peacemakers.

Lord God, give us the skills to help us find balance in our bodies, minds, and spirits.

Give us time O Lord to rest, relax, refresh, and renew and have quality time with YOU.

May we always take time to to pray for the least of these and may we step up to help in time of need.

Loving God may we always take time to listen to Your still small voice of calm and follow you wherever you are leading us.

Channel. our energies so that we may be able to help heal your broken and  fragile world.

We pray this night for all those who are ill, hospitalized, and recovering from surgery, and especially those who are living with chronic illnesses. We pray that they may be healed and be comforted.

Lord God lift up our spirits when we are down and give us the tools to live, love, and laugh.

Lord God we pray for this night and in the days to come__________________________

Lord God we give thanks for all the many blessing you showered up on us especially_____________

Lord God we lift up in prayer the prayers of the voiceless and those who don't know how or what to pray for.

Lord God we pray that justice, mercy and peace may prevail in this world and that we may be united as the beautiful and loving family you have called and commanded us to be.

We  lift up these our prayers to you Lord Christ in Your Most Holy Name. Amen.
