Random Thoughts on You Matter Monday

Dear Family of Love,

Happy You Matter Monday! This has been a busy day in the writing department. I had the privilege to compose, compile, and publish our parish's newsletter and update today. Learning skills similar to what I do for the blog is both exciting and at times frustrating. I accomplished it with little or no trouble just a few minor corrections that needed to be done. Every mistake we make is another addition to the lessons learned tool box. On social media we are seeing pictures of Kim Davis, the Syrian Refugees, Politicians running for office, and nasty postings having to do with the crane collapse in Mecca that killed over 100+ people.  These images and postings trouble me deeply and make me want to grit and grind my teeth because these situations all have to do with our callous disregard for the Children of God and how poorly we care for each other. Today we had another shooting ad Delta College and a college professor lost his life. In my town alone there have been armed robberies, murders, attempted murders too many to count in the last few days alone. Maybe that is why I took a night off from the walking trail. I'm not afraid, I'm just a little tired of all the unnecessary  and needless harming of all God's children. We all need to start thinking before we act and realizing that violence and terror are not doing this fragile and broken world any good.
We all must stand up without fear and tell our family members who engage in this behavior to stop it! I only wish it were that simple! One thing I do know is that it starts with ourselves and it must branch out  like the old Faberge Shampoo ad. Remember this?  Tonight let us write down what is bothering us on a piece of paper and call it Random Thoughts. Whatever you write do it quickly without dwelling upon it. After you complete tonight's written meditation task, pray your list, and let the items go.

Take time to pray this night and let God fill your gas tank up so that you will have enough Love Energy for the coming week.

God help us to learn how to vent and let the emotions, thoughts, and fears depart.

God we pray that we may be reminded that we can make mistakes and then begin anew.

God we pray for all our brothers and sisters, especially all refugees and those who belong to different faith communities.

God we pray that we may be more loving and caring and remember that we must love one another as God loves us.

God we pray for our family members who are ill and in need of loving care.

God we pray for all of our family members who are struggling in any way shape or form.

God we pray that we may learn to love all our brothers and sisters who come from other cultures, speak different languages, and live differently than we do.

God we offer our prayers for the conservation of God's Cathedral of Life.

God we pray for________________________

God we give thanks for___________________

Accept these our prayers in the name of Jesus. Amen.
