Bridge Week: Building Bridges by treating everyone with unconditional love and acceptance.

Dear Family of Love !

I hope everyone had a happy and Wonderful and Wonder-filled Wednesday.  We are almost halfway through Bridge Week and we are learning to build bridges and tear down walls with Compassion, Acceptance, Love and Mercy. Building bridges requires letting go of our preconceived notions about people and situations. Tonight we will meditate upon unconditional love and acceptance. Do you love all of our family members with unconditional love and acceptance?,Do you have problems doing this?, What are the difficulties and roadblocks ?What does unconditional love and acceptance mean to you? What does that mean in terms of building bridges?
These are out questions to ponder.

Before we ponder these questions let us engage in our "Adapted Be Stills"

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that God is Love.
Be still and know that You are Love.
Be sill and know that I Am Love.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Slowly inhale.
Hold.
Slowly exhale

Pause. Count to 10.
Repeat 4 times.

Now let us review the questions:
Do you love all of our family members with unconditional love and acceptance?
Do you have problems doing this? What are the difficulties and roadblocks ?
What does unconditional love and acceptance mean to you?
What does that mean in terms of building bridges?
Those are our tasks for this evening. Take your time and after you do your jottings please repeat the  "Be stills!'

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know.
Be still,
Be.

Slowly inhale.
Hold.
Slowly exhale

Pause. Count to 10.
Repeat 4 times.

This Wednesday as we prepare for our nightly Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigils, won't you  please join me in the "Be Stills'
Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know.
Be still,
Be.
Slowly inhale.
Hold.
Slowly exhale
Let us light our candles and be at prayer.
This night we pray that we may build bridges by treating our family members with love and acceptance. We pray that we may accept each other's differences lovingly with grace and courage. We pray for an end to all forms animosity, hatred, bigotry, terror, violence, and abuse.
We pray that we may learn and show unconditional love and acceptance to all. We pray that we may model loving and courteous behavior towards all who are using social media during this election year. We pray that we all may have the courage to speak truth to power and be voices of the voiceless when we are called to do so even if it makes our family members feel uneasy.

Prayers that ask us to Challenge our Hearts

Let us pray this night for our family members who reside outdoors remembering Shopping Cart Sally, Buena Vista Vince, Kimberly, and all those who are homeless, hungry, living on the margins of society.
Challenge our hearts O God.

We pray for all peace in the world and especially where there is violence, injustice, cruelty and indifference.
Challenge our hearts O God to be peacemakers.

We pray for all family members who are caregivers of every stripe. Challenge our hearts and all  persons  to step up and offer loving help without begrudging.

We pray for all of our Family members who are ill, aging, and disabled. Challenge our hearts to pray, help, and not pass by on the side of the road.
