It's love your neighbor week at Walk With Me On Our Journey! I hear a song from Sesame Street!

Dear Family of Love,

Happy You Matter Monday and Love your Neighbor Week here at Walk With Me On Our Journey!
Yes more of that Love your neighbor stuff to meditate and ponder. Last week it was Bridge Week and we virtually built bridges and tore down walls. This week we continue building bridges but of a different kind. We are going to build bridges by getting to know and love our neighbors. It isn't always the easiest thing to do for many of us. We must remember this (No Casablanca music here), God has commanded us to love our neighbors/ family members. Do you actually know who your neighbors are on your block or in your condo or apartment complex?  Can you name at least 3?  How long have you lived in your present neighborhood? If someone was looking to move into your neighborhood how would you describe it, the residents, etc?  These may sound like questions from the Chamber of Commerce and Zillow but they really aren't.  These questions we need to ask ourselves in every situation we are in since our working environment is also a neighborhood, our church is a neighborhood, our town is our neighborhood, our religious affiliation is our neighborhood, our state is our neighborhood, our country is our neighborhood, and the planet earth is our neighborhood and everyone happens to be our neighbors/family members. This doesn't sound like our block where we live does it? No, it doesn't ! This means we get to spend more time building bridges and good relationships with our neighbors/family members this week. It is all about relationships and being the best neighbor/family member we can be!  So let us remember and listen to three musical selections for a reminder. They will be numbered neighbor 1, 2, and 3! Each will be a surprise!

Neighbor 1

Neighbor 2

Neighbor 3

For your time of pondering could you name just 3 neighbors where you live? When was the last time you took time to get to know y/our neighbors? Can you do the same thing with y/our parish family, service organization, workplace, and anywhere else? Can you name a few of these special neighbors?
(Town, County, State, Country, Worldwide) Just read the newspaper, watch TV, Social Media, they will be of help! Are there any people who are on this list who aren't y/our neighbors? Remember we are all neighbors!

If you are feeling overwhelmed about getting to know your neighbors just use our meditation from last weeks blog about meeting each other halfway!

Tonight let's meditate upon how we can become neighborly!

Let us exchange the "Be Stills' for this!

I love God.
I love my neighbor.
I love myself.
I love.

I love because God first loved me.

I love God.
I love my neighbor.
I love myself.
I love.

I love because God first loved me.

I love God.
I love my neighbor.
I love myself.
I love.

I love because God first loved me.

If you'd like to add the 'Be Stills' Because you had a stressful day, here they are:
Let's engage in our "Be Stills"

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Slowly inhale.
Hold.
Slowly exhale

Pause. Count to 10.

Repeat 4 times!

Now sit quietly and reflect up the day past and enjoy your visit with God. Open wide your heart homes and feel God filling you up with Love Energy.

Happy You Matter Monday! It is time for us to join together in our nightly Virtual Candlelight Prayer Vigil. Let us light our candles and be at prayer for our neighbors nearby and far away.
Let us remember all who have had a stressful day and need reassurance. Let us pray that we may continue to build bridges and tear down walls by simply getting to know and love our neighbors. We pray this night for all who are out in the cold and need food, clothing, and shelter.  We pray for all our family members and pray that we may learn to love them more fully and with CALM (compassion, acceptance, love, and mercy).
