The Feeding Frenzy of Fear and what it does to one's faith! Let not our hearts be troubled!

Good Evening Dear Family of God and  Love !

Happy Keeping the Faith Friday Fearlessly Without Fretting! These days on TV, Social Media, print journalism, and the internet we have found ourselves to be inundated with fear and hate mongers. When did we need to visit the shark tank and go towards the bloody water and feast upon it? This isn't how I want to live my life and it certainly isn't recommended when you are a faith oriented and spiritual person. A feeding frenzy of fear has crept in an insidious way and is testing our faith in ways that are unimaginable. Last evening we had a discussion about fear and we are going to again. Fear is the one thing that robs us of our faith, our family, and our focus on what is truly important.  We may not see or feel it when it is happening. We must disengage from the works of verbal terrorists who are leading us into fear, bullying, abuse, hatred, and inciting us into the world of violence and mistrust.
Have you noticed that your blood pressure has risen, you are gritting your teeth, and you want to yell and let y/our family members have it? If you have you have become a victim of the feeding frenzy of fear! That goes against everything we talk about here at Walk With Me On Our Journey. God, Jesus, and myriads of angels keep telling us :

Do not be afraid!

Fear Not!

Let not your hearts be troubled!

Perfect love casts out fear!

I guess we need to go back to basics and decide who we are going to listen to or follow. Are we going to succumb to the words of a verbal terrorist or are we going to be enlightened, enlivened, and empowered by God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit? I hope you are leaning on the side of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They are our safety net and won't let us faint or fall. Let's spend less time in the Fear Factory and more time in the Faith Factory wherever and what ever that is to you.  Dear ones it is time to take charge of our fears and place them in the Worry Sabbath/Box-Jar or Journal and leave them there. Fear, hate, bigotry, violence, verbal abuse and terror haven't any place here or in our hearts.

Here is a a piece by John Michael Talbot and this is a good opening for tonight's worship;

Be Not Afraid Mix from John Michael Talbot

Take time to breathe in and out and feel God's abiding and loving presence within you!

Gracious and Loving God we light our candles and pray for an end to darkness and fear. We pray that our hearts may be lifted out of all the dark places that are infecting our bodies, minds, and spirits. Give us peaceful hearts as we confront the feeding frenzy of fear that often incites us into actions that we know that aren't Godly or good for humanity. We pray that all acts of verbal terror may cease and those who speak words of terror may learn that words and deeds indeed do hurt many. Help us to speak truth to power with strength and loving tongues. We pray this night for all victims of word terror be it bullying, bigotry, hate speak, and all forms of speech that seek only to divide and not unite. We pray for unity, justice, peace, equality, and CALM (Compassion, Acceptance, Love, and Mercy) We pray these our prayers as we place our worries, fears, anxieties, and any thing else that separates us from being united with God and each other into our Worry/Sabbath box as we prepare for our weekly Self-Care and Sabbath Rest Weekend Retreat. Let us light our candles now and carry them into the world with love and as a symbols that we are to be the lights of the world. Every person we meet may we remember these words "The Light of Christ/God in me recognizes the Light of Christ/ God. in you. Amen.

God as the week rushes by may we stop, look, listen, and be at prayer with you this night and always.

God we pray for an end to fear, hatred, bullying, abuse, and all forms of terror and even the terror of words designed to harm.

God help us we pray to stop, look, and listen to our family members who are struggling to live, move, and just be.

God help us we pray to serve the least of these with loving, tender, and pure hearts not seeking to be self-serving and ego focused.

God help us we pray to see you in everyone we meet and shine your light to them.

God we pray for all who are ill that they may be healed and comforted.

God we pray for all who are grieving losses of any kind.

God we pray for all who are in surgery at this moment that there may be a positive outcome.

God help us to rest comfortably this night and that we may lay our burdens down.

God we pray for all of our family members who have asked us to pray and especially the concerns and loved ones who are on their hearts____________________________

God we pray for all who have died that they may enjoy the joy and peace only Eternal Life can bring.

God we most especially pray for peace in this fragile and broken world.

God we pray for an end to violence and abuse of any kind. We pray for the victims of violence, abuse, and human trafficking.

God we add our own additional prayers and thanksgivings that are on our hearts this night and lay them in Jesus' gentle arms. Amen.
