Welcoming the Holy Spirit into our lives so that we can carry God's Good News to the world.

Dear Family of Love!

Happy Pentecost on and all! This has been and is one of the most exciting days for me as a person of faith. Pentecost reminds me of how important our souls and spirits are not only spiritually but physically and mentally. The Holy Spirit is the animating force that sets our feet on the holy path of life where we actively follow and model ourselves after Jesus. Without this special kind of love energy we would not be able to tune into God and our family members. The Holy Spirit empowers us to be positive forces in the world and drives us to speak truth to power and be CALM to all God's children. God has been in the business of pouring out God's Love, The Spirit upon all , and Jesus' forgiveness of sins to everyone on the planet. God never excludes, God includes, and not only that God goes after the lost, lonely, afraid, and yes even our family members who like to hate, fear, bully, terrorize and commit violent acts of many kinds. God is always seeking. We must always be welcoming the Holy Spirit into our lives and even when we receive those not so gentle taps on the shoulders. Have you welcomed the Holy Spirit back into your life today or maybe gotten reacquainted? We often do not feel the Holy Spirit's power with in us  but She is there guiding us and loving us through what we are going through. Let us take time tonight to go deeper and welcome the Holy Spirit back into our lives with love and radical hospitality. We must continually be welcoming to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit into our lives as we do all our neighbors and family members.

Tonight let us listen to a piece from Taize and at the same time breathe, close your eyes, and relax. If you want to sing along do that too.

Veni Sancte Spiritus - Taize

Holy Spirit we welcome you into our hearts and into our lives this night as we light our candles. We pray that we may always feel your presence and empowering love energy and ready to accept God's call and follow where it leads without fear. We pray that we may not be afraid to step out and take risks and that with God's abiding love and help we may go boldly and spread God's Good News to this fragile and broken world.  We pray this night that we may serve the least of these with a heart filled with purpose and care. We pray that we may know that when God meant all God meant all and not some. We give thanks to God for God's inclusive love and radical hospitality that we are invited and encouraged to share with all of our brothers and sisters. We thank you for making us in your image and likeness O God with love and tender loving care. We give thanks for the diversity of peoples, faiths, and that we may remember we all must live together in peace, harmony, justice, and unity for the good of all. We love you God. We love our family members! We love ourselves ! Help us to follow  you as beacons of the Light of Christ and show the world that being a family member of God is awesome. We lift up these our prayers and thanksgivings and anything that is on our  minds and hearts this night. Amen.

Today is the feast of Pentecost and the Rush of the mighty wind that was present at the first Pentecost still inspires, empowers, and fuels our spiritual selves. We always need to find ways to be spiritually fueled. I happen to like art, music, and seeing and  spiritual leaders and prayer waking. With summer fast approaching we need to keep our bodies, minds, and spirits fueled. Take time to find out what that means for you.

Today I invite you to take a slight period of rest and reflection and find peace at the center.
Please select your own music. Take your time and enjoy the quiet.

God we pray that we may feel the rush of the mighty wind may continue to empower, inspire, and uplift our bodies, minds, and spirits. Fuel us for our journey that we may be loving, merciful, and serve all of our family members.

God we pray for all of us who are on a journey to new life paths, employment, enliven our hearts and minds to listen for your still small voice.

God we pray for all who are serving and have served their country.  We remember especially all who have died remembering________________

God we pray for the healing of  the nations, the Earth, and our bodies, minds, and spirits.

God we remember especially this day in our prayers and thanksgivings  ____________________
