A season of prayer and healing is what's on the menu!

Dear Family of Love,

I hope everyone had a day where we all had time to catch our breath. It isn't easy after last evening's events last evening with all the horrendous acts of violence in our country. I'm not going to qualify the type of violence. Violence is violence. We must begin to start a time of healing, vigiling, praying, and taking action. Tonight I see our time together as one of taking time for silence and breathing, a prayer vigil. and more time for prayers. Tonight this isn't a time for a lot of chatter but a time to go inward and remember.

Let us begin by placing all our worries, anxieties, fears, and mads into our Worry/ Sabbath Box to de-clutter our minds, hearts,and spirits. Take out your Post Its and take your time.

Now it is time for our "Be Stills"

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Breathe in deeply,
Exhale slowly

Pause and center into God's Loving Presence.

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Breathe in deeply,
Exhale slowly

Pause and center into God's Loving Presence.

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Breathe in deeply,
Exhale slowly

Pause and center into God's Loving Presence.

God we come to you at the time of the the evening breeze seeking healing of our world and nation. As we light our candles and spend time with you and each other help us to begin to enter into a time of  seeking your face in others. We pray for the the cities of Dallas, Baton Rouge, and St. Paul. We pray for the families of  Philando Castile, Alton Sterling, the 6 Dallas police officers, the Orlando 49, and all families whose lives have been touched by violence anywhere. We pray that we may step up, speak out, and carry the message of CALM (Compassion, acceptance, Love, and Mercy) and peace. We pray this night that we may use our words and deeds as healing balms.
We pray that we may feel your presence as we learn to  in the words of the African Proverb-

As long as you speak my name I shall live forever" -  We Speak the names of the Orlando 49,  Moses York,and the Dallas 5 .

God we pray that in each community where violence has happened this week that your love and healing balm may surround our family members.
We pray for healing hands, words, and hearts and that we may learn to keep watch of what we say and what we do.
We pray for the healing of our natural resources that your Cathedral of Life may be renewed and all living beings may live in harmony.
We pray for the healing of our bodies minds and spirits that we may be brought back into a healthy balance in order to serve you.
We pray for the healing of relationships within our family that we may come together as a united and loving family.
We pray for the healing between all nations that there may be peace and goodwill among all peoples.
We pray for the healing of our cities, towns, states, countries, and all places where thee has been violence and terror.
We pray for the healing of ____________________________
We pray that everyone who has been touched by violent acts of terror, trafficking and abuse and all other acts that harm the body, mind, and spirit may receive healing and feel your holy and life giving and healing balm at work with in them.
We pray for healing and wholeness to begin with us as we journey on and carry love, light, kindness to all.
We pray that we may become peacemakers ready to heal your fragile and broken world.
We remember the words of St. Francis:

"Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life."

And we remember the words of St. Teresa of Avila

Teresa of Avila (1515–1582)
Christ Has No Body

Christ has no body but yours,

No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.

We lift up these our prayers in the name of the Great Physician and healer of us all. Amen.
"The Light of  Christ in me Recognizes the Light of Christ in You!
