Even your cyber minister has been a victim of hate speak!

Good Evening Dear Ones!

Happy Take Care Tuesday ! I want to share with you something that happened to me last evening on Twitter. I was a victim of hate speak and was forced to block 6 people who took great offense that I support Muslims. I wanted to educate someone that I don't follow on a question she asked. I sent her a link and that led to opening a can of worms and I was told that I was a "Stupid, Stupid, Stupid Girl"
"That I was deluded"! When I shared that I'm involved with interfaith groups and that I'm treated like family by many of my Muslim friends another person chimed in and said "That's nice maybe when they attack you'll be the last to be killed" After 6 replies I decided that I would block these hateful people! I don't usually do this but I couldn't stand having my TL littered with hate and hate speak. Tonight I ask you to pray for all haters in social media who attack with the weaponry of words.  I am rattled to say the least but getting better. When I woke up I found out about the events in France and the beloved priest who was killed while celebrating mass. I was sangered that is sad and angered by this latest act of violence by a radical pseudo-Muslim Extremist. We must pray and learn from each other now more than ever. Coming out as Lesbian was much less frightening than being a victim of hate speak.  Tonight we pray against hate and violence. Tonight we come and pray for each other and light our candles and shed light throughout the world seeking to abolish hatred by shining the light of love and mercy to a fragile, broken, and world that needs to be enlightened towards unity not division.

We enter our prayer time with the "Be Stills"

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

God, we come to you this night to light a single candle to shine this light to world against hatred and especially hate speak. We pray that we may think before we speak and scatter words of hatred out into social media. We pray that our lights may bring to light the biases that divide so that we may work for justice, equality, bridge building, unity and the vanquishing of hatred and violence. We pray that we may listen with our heart homes well lit to receive holy instruction from you so that we may know how to act in words and in deeds. We pray this night and remember "As long as you speak my name I shall live forever" - African Proverb in honor and loving memory of Father Jaques Hamel, 85, a Catholic priest who was brutally killed while saying mass today by the action of yet another terrorist. Let Light Perpetual Shine upon him and all of us who mourn his loss. We pray and give thanks for the work of Mothers of the Movement who speak the names of their children who died by gun violence at the hands of law enforcement and others. We pray this night for the leaders of the world who need to be empowered to practice sound governance with dignity, respect, and integrity. We light our candles and pray away all hatred and division this night and always and let us sow seeds of love, hope, joy, peace, and that we may grow into the united and loving family God has called us to be. Amen
