A time of prayer and togetherness when the world is weary and awry

Good Evening Dear Ones,

We meet together tonight as members of the human family and as Children of God. We find ourselves living in dangerous and heartbreaking times. Last evening we were hearing the news about the terrorist attack in Nice and on this day we turn on the TV in the afternoon and learn about the coup attempt in Turkey. These events and others over the past month have been unsettling and not what we want to hear or see. Our emotions are raw and are at war with our bodies, minds, and spirits. It seems like we aren't given a breather to recover and find our equilibrium. Maybe this is a good thing because it calls us to work harder with loving care to be the Family of God. These days everything we do or say needs to be measured by God's command to Love our neighbors, selves and God at the center. Every day our lenses through which we look upon the events of the day are constantly trying to be in focus and when we are in a blurry state that's when we find ourselves not being able to see God and Jesus and each other more clearly. Tonight we keep our prayers, our heart homes, and love energy focused upon the needs and concerns of this world.

But first let us begin by doing our pre- prayer work by placing our worries, fears, etc. into the Worry/Sabbath box to start moving into a place of prayer.

Now let us take time to "Be Still"

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.

Peace be still.
Peace be.
Peace.

Let us close our eyes and breathe deeply and exhale slowly until as my trainer says "Find your happy place!"

God we hate to bother you again but we your children of  Planet Earth need your help. You see and as you already know that Gaia is going through terrible times knowing how to be a family. We pray this night and light our candles and our heart candles so that the world may see and know that we are your loving children and the ones who can be counted on to help. We pray for Turkey and a peaceful end to the attempted Coup. We pray that all our family members in Turkey may be safe and secure from harm. We pray that words not weapons will be used to bring a return to peaceful governance. We continue to pray for peace and those who grieving the loss of life in Nice. We pray for those who have died and let light perpetual shine upon them. We pray for all who have been injured and in need of healing. We pray for peace in all of our cities remembering especially  Orlando, Istanbul, Dhaka, Baghdad, Saudi Arabia, Sudan,St. Paul, Baton Rouge, and Dallas. We pray for all those who have lost their lives in any act of violence.  We pray that as we prepare for Speak My Name Day tomorrow we  may remember this as we remember not just the 4000+ children of God who were lynched in this country but that we remember that terrorism has always existed and that we must pray for an end to it in all of its destructive forms. We pray for those who have been terrorized by words, deeds, persons and groups who seek to destroy Your  children emotionally and physically. We pray this night and light our candles as we remember and "As long as you speak my name I shall live forever" - African Proverb. God we pray that we may speak your Name and the names of your children with love, dignity, and respect. Help us God to pray when these days get tough and raw.. Light our pathway and may we feel your loving presence, O God and Give us Peace. Amen
