God requests the gift of our presence one to another ! A time of prayer, light, and remembrance!

Good Evening Dear Ones,

I'm writing with yet another heavy and tender heart as we mourn yet again the senseless loss of life in Nice France. Today here at Walk With Me On Our Journey is Being Thoughtful and Thankful Thursday and for all of us that means we are to take time for thanksgiving and an attitude of gratitude. We still give thanks but at the same time, I feel God is requesting the gift of our presence one to another. We need to be present without the need to fix and judge. We need to be the loving, quiet, supporting, empathetic, children of God. God expects us now more than ever to practice our love energy skills like never before. How do we do this? We do this many ways but the easiest way is just by sitting with an open heart, open mind, listening ears, and closed mouth. Our job if we choose to take it is to just be quiet and consoling. Be the balm and provide solace and soulace to one another. During these times make a point to be CALM (Compassionate, Accepting, Loving, and Merciful).
Tonight we prayer vigil and pray. We will just leave it at that. Please make a point to spend time with your family members and hold space.

God,tonight we are greeted with yet another time of sadness and heartbreak over the latest events in Nice, France We light one single candle in loving memory and in in unity with all our brothers and sisters who have lost their lives in Nice and all other places where violent acts of terror have occurred. We pray for peace in our hearts that we may hold space and give the gift of our presence to those who are mourning, fearful, angry, despondent, lonely, lost, alone, invisible, and in need of comfort. We pray that we may hold space by listening not just to fix but listening in such a way that love will surround the spaces in between. We pray that we may hold space by being the soft place in which to fall and surround our family with loving and consoling arms in warm embraces. We pray for sound media and a tone where they won't jump to conclusions or have the need to constantly over analyze. We pray and remember all those who are on our hearts and minds this day  ______________
We light our candles in unity of love, spirit, and purpose. We light our candles to shine a light into the dark and raw places and pray that healing from all forms of suffering may begin. We pray this night  in the name of God who is good, all the time. and remember that all the Time  God is Good. Amen.

Let us pray and be still.

Psalm 23- Bobby McFerrin

Prayers From the BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER

O God of peace, you have taught us that in returning and
rest we shall be saved, in quietness and confidence shall be
our strength: By the might of your Spirit lift us, we pray, to
your presence, where we may be still and know that you are
God; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the
Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Faure -Cantique de Jean Racine

A Prayer attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.

Pie Jesu- Andrew Lloyd Webber

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city built on a
hill cannot be hid. No one lights a lamp to put it under a
bucket, but on a lamp-stand where it gives light for everyone
in the house. And you, like the lamp, must shed light among
your fellow men, so that they may see the good you do, and
give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

Tavener - Song for Athene

Grant us, Lord, the lamp of charity which never fails, that it
may burn in us and shed its light on those around us, and
that by its brightness we may have a vision of that holy City,
where dwells the true and never-failing Light, Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen.

O Gracious Light Phos hilaron

O gracious Light,
pure brightness of the everliving Father in heaven,
O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun,
and our eyes behold the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.

Psalm 121 Levavi oculos

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills; *
from where is my help to come?
2 My help comes from the LORD, *
the maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot be moved *
and he who watches over you will not fall asleep.
4 Behold, he who keeps watch over Israel *
shall neither slumber nor sleep;
5 The Lord himself watches over you; *
the Lord is your shade at your right hand,
6 So that the sun shall not strike you by day, *
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; *
it is he who shall keep you safe.
8 The Lord shall watch over your going out and
your coming in, *
from this time forth for evermore.

The Song of Simeon Nunc dimittis
Luke 2:29-32
Lord, you now have set your servant free *
to go in peace as you have promised;
For these eyes of mine have seen the Savior, *
whom you have prepared for all the world to see:
A Light to enlighten the nations, *
and the glory of your people Israel.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
