What do we do when the news gets to us ? We pray and we pray some more and We leave everything in God's hands.

Dear Family of Love,

I don't know about you but that past few days of the news from France, has brought be low. Watching all the violence and tension has given me a headache and made me feel tired and tender. I'm not sure if it was the news or the two new medications I'm on or a little bit of both. Today is Keeping the Faith Friday Fearlessly without Fretting. It was hard to keep the faith while being drawn into the 24 hour news cycle.  So what do we do when the news gets to us? I know the one thing that does help and that is this:
We leave everything in God's hands

We pray and we pray some more.

We turn off the TV and take a news fast.

We pray and we pray some more.

We leave everything in God's hands.

We get up and move around the cabin.

We pray and we pray some more.

We limit our online time.

We pray and we pray some more.

We leave everything in God's hands.

We go out and do something in town. Take a drive, go to a movie, call your family and pay them a visit if they are available and live in town. Anything that keeps you away from the media!

We pray and we pray some more.

We leave everything in God's hands.

We take time for rest, relaxation, and renewal.

We pray and we pray some more.

We leave everything in God's hands.

We find a cause that is near and dear to us and take action.

We pray and we pray some more.

We leave everything in God's hands.

Give the above a try and then tonight let's put our worries, fears, concerns, anxieties into the worry/Sabbath box and leave them there. Tonight let us meditate on the healing of our heart homes when we go through these times of trouble and upset.  Here is our meditation and listening music: There is a Balm in Gilead, and Spirituals in Concert

God let us pray this night for all that is troubling our heart homes. We pray for  this healing so that we may be able to love and serve you this night and always.

God we pray for safe driving and all forms of transport and  for all who have been in accidents due to severe weather conditions through out our country and the world.

God we pray for peace and and end to terror and violence. We pray for the people of  France and Nigeria. We remember all who lost their lives in any act of terror today.

God we pray for our family members who are homeless, hungry, and ill-clad that they may find warm shelter tonight.

God we pray for sound government throughout our nation and throughout the world. We pray for justice, universal human rights, and equality for all God's children.

God we pray for all who are ill and in need of healing of their bodies, minds, and spirits, Give us courage and resolve to lovingly respond and help them.

God we pray for all who protect us remembering Police, national guard, military, United Nations Peacekeepers,Fire fighters and emergency rescue personnel.

God we pray for all caregivers who are in need of energy and strength to carry on with their duties.

God we pray for ourselves and those who have come to ask us for prayer remembering_______________ We pray for all prayers unspoken and those who haven't the courage to ask us for our prayers.

God we lift up our daily celebration of life to you and give thanks that we have made it through another day.

We  pray these our prayers in the most holy name of Jesus! Amen.
