The 13th Ripple in the Pond! A trip to see the Penelopiad and many things to ponder.

Good Late Evening or Early Morning Dear Family of Love!

I have just returned from seeing a production of  Margaret Atwood's "Penelopiad" based on the novel of the same name. It was about the Odyssey in the voice of Penelope, the wife of Odysseus. This play centered around her life and what she had to go through prior to meeting and marrying Odysseus and then surviving 20 long years without him while he was on his Odyssey. It got me thinking what if a woman or a group of women;s husband or husbands left town and didn't tell their wives where they were going and they went to become part of ISIS. What would these women do? How would they survive ?, and What would happen after they returned from their time away? I'm not sure we would have any comprehension as to what we would do and how we would take it all in when  they came home if they came home at all. I would surmise that the women would have many questions and if they were intuitive enough they would sooner or later find out that their men's behavior and attitudes would have changed greatly and not for the better. Why am I thinking about these things? Well I'm thinking about these things because I feel we need to pray for peace harder, pray for our enemies and all the innocent victims of war's fallout and especially our enemies' family members who are unintended victims who are caught in violence's wake. Tonight or if it is morning when you wake up be at prayer and take time to remember women, children, our enemies, our enemies' family members, refugees, captives, and all who are victims of human trafficking!

God we pray for peace your broken world.
May peace and love prevail.

God we pray for women and children and the most vulnerable who are in danger or abuse.
May peace, love, and compassionate care prevail.

God we pray for our enemies and our enemies' family members who are caught in war's cross hairs.
May peace and love prevail.

God we pray for all refugees, captives, and all who are victims of human trafficking.
May they be set free to live in safety and may peace and love prevail.

God we pray for  all of our leaders that they may stop legislating cruelty and be aware that when they are hurting another human or living being they are hurting and doing violence to you.
May justice roll down and may peace and love prevail

God we pray for all of us who are struggling to live out in the open as the beautiful children whom God has made.  May we not be afraid to live authentically into our own truth.
May we have strength and courage to be ourselves and may peace, justice, equality, and love prevail.

God we pray for all who are ill in body mind and spirit may they be healed of all their infirmities!
May health and healing take place and may love and peace prevail in our bodies, minds, and spirits.

God we pray for all who are in mourning over any loss.
May love ,comfort and peace prevail in their hearts.

God we pray this night for all who are homeless, hungry, and ill clad.
May we lovingly respond to their needs and may they find shelter from the cold and nourishment for their bodies.

God we add our thanksgivings, thoughtful thoughts, and additional prayers________________
Let us lift these our prayers in the Name of Jesus, our brother, friend, savior, teacher, and  healer. Amen.
