An early afternoon blog on Self-Care Saturday! Time for a meditation and prayer break!

Dear Family of Love,

Thank you for your love, prayers,  and patience after another wild sinus/allergy headache plagued me last evening. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Self-Care Saturday. I decided to write this afternoon because sometimes writing in the light of day can add an extra special quality and focus.
Today our televisions, tablets, smartphones have been full of  sports  and the funeral service for Vice President Biden's son Beau. This also marks the first anniversary of my dad's memorial service.  All of these events keep reminding me how important we all are to each other and being kind to ourselves is. Self-care and care of others is vitally important if we are to live well and in the lives of others who depend upon us. The questions for us to meditate upon today are : How do we live well bodily, mentally, and spiritually, and how do we help others to live well bodily, mentally, and spiritually? I'm not going to give you the answers. Those are yours to feast upon in the coming days.
This afternoon let us take a virtual  labyrinth walk with our mouse Today I won't be prayer walking due to a still wonky knee and I'm going to a concert in Santa Barbara this evening so this will be our prayer walk together.

For your meditative and afternoon  listening pleasure.

God Never Sleeps- Music from the Iona Community

God  you call us to pray unceasingly may we take this rest break on this Self-Care Saturday to spend time to be in quiet contemplation and in conversation with you.

God we pray for all who are glorifying busy-ness and not paying attention to their bodies, minds, and spirits and their need to be in conversation with you and your need to hear from them.

God we pray for peace in our hearts, heads, and spirits. Clean out the messiness in our heads so that we may make each and every day we live, move, and just be holy. Help us to take times for Sabbath rest and renewal.

God we pray for all of our family members who are grieving the loss of loved ones. We remember Vice President Biden's family and us who grieve Beau's loss. May we take time to remember our loved ones who have died and have entered into the Thin Places.

God we pray for peace in the world that we all may be united as your family of love. We pray for an end to all violence, division, and injustice.

God we pray and give thanks for all who are graduating and embarking on new life paths and discerning vocations to ministry.

God we pray at this time for all our family members who are coming into our minds and hearts at this moment_______________________

God we pray for all who are living with chronic illness of the body, mind, and spirit. remembering especially_____________________

God we pray that we may be good stewards of your Cathedral of Life. May we be practice conservation and help become conscientious about  how our daily activities contribute to global warming and climate change.

God we add our thanksgivings and remembrances___________________

God we lift up these our prayers and thanksgivings in the Holy Name of Jesus. Amen.

+++++++

Have a blessed rest of the day my dearly loved family! I love you ! You Matter, You are a blessing and a gift to me and to each other.

With love and warmth in the light of day!

Sara
