Having patience on the road! Finding peace and getting into the OM zone or the Be Still and Know Zone!

Dear Family of Love,

I'm writing this blog more than a tad bit late from the Omni Hotel in Los Angeles where I'm hanging my hat tonight after a fabulous Gala Concert of Organ, Choirs, and Brass at The Walt Disney Concert Hall celebrating 150 years of Parish Ministry in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. Before I got into town traffic was not good. a long stretch of road work around the area of the oil slick  was bumper to bumper and very slow going. We had this periodically as the mechanical phalanx of ants traveled South. I got to the hotel with time to spare and was able to get prettified. Today I learned about having patience on the road. I was able to find peace and get into the OM Zone or if you are totally of the Christian persuasion the Be Still and Know Zone. These are very important things one must do no matter what. I give thanks that having these strange episodes of low blood pressure has caused me to really be in the OM zone. So tonight we will get into the OM zone with a few of the pieces from tonight's concert and have a few prayers.

All Creatures of Our God and King

I Was Glad Charles Hubert Hastings Parry

As you can hear from what was on the program  our spirits soared to heights unknown and what a spiritual experience it was.

Gracious God we thank you for the music of  the spheres that set our hearts afire and send our souls aloft.

God we thank you for your servant David who gives us the Psalter each day with hymns that demand us to listen to what you are saying to us through verse and ancient song.

God we thank you for musical instruments that remind us that when they are put together we blend in perfect harmony. Help us to think of this as we strive for justice, peace, and mercy throughout the world.

God we thank you for opportunities of being with our family members in our parishes not just on Sundays.

God we pray for all who are traveling home tonight that they may be surrounded by heavenly angels.

God we pray for all who have come to you and us seeking our prayers remembering_______________

God we give thanks for ______________________________

God we pray that we may hear the heavenly lullaby as we drift into this night's rest in your loving and gentle arms.

All these prayers we lift up in the name of God the Creator, Jesus our Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit the Holy Comforter. Amen.

Good Night My Dear family May the Angelic voices sing you to sleep and awaken your hearts with joy, hope, and harmony. I love you and give thanks to God for you this Night and always!

Love, peace, joy, and hope!

Let us know Praise famous men.

Sirach 44 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)

44 Let us now praise famous men,
    and our fathers in their generations.
2 The Lord apportioned to them[a] great glory,
    his majesty from the beginning.
3 There were those who ruled in their kingdoms,
    and were men renowned for their power,
giving counsel by their understanding,
    and proclaiming prophecies;
4 leaders of the people in their deliberations
    and in understanding of learning for the people,
    wise in their words of instruction;
5 those who composed musical tunes,
    and set forth verses in writing;
6 rich men furnished with resources,
    living peaceably in their habitations—
7 all these were honored in their generations,
    and were the glory of their times.
8 There are some of them who have left a name,
    so that men declare their praise.
9 And there are some who have no memorial,
    who have perished as though they had not lived;
they have become as though they had not been born,
    and so have their children after them.
10 But these were men of mercy,
    whose righteous deeds have not been forgotten;
11 their prosperity will remain with their descendants,
    and their inheritance to their children’s children.[b]
12 Their descendants stand by the covenants;
    their children also, for their sake.
13 Their posterity will continue for ever,
    and their glory will not be blotted out.
14 Their bodies were buried in peace,
    and their name lives to all generations.
15 Peoples will declare their wisdom,
    and the congregation proclaims their praise.
