Peace and quiet is the order of the day ! Going off the grid and using the on and off switch is essential to care for oneself.

Dear Family of Love!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Take Care Tuesday and that you took time to care for yourselves and each other. I hope that you remembered to check in with your loved ones.  Today we learned of yet another earthquake in Nepal, a possible typhoon in Japan, and severe weather here in the states and not to mention the train derailment in Pennsylvania ! These events require our prayers and love for our family members. Navigating one thing after another can be difficult with the constant information flowing through the 24 hour news cycle. We all need to remember that remotes come complete with an on and off switch and that we must take time to cleanse our minds and hearts from news anxiety and that also includes going off the grid for awhile too. I am so glad that I have gone to two prayer walks a day for my health and sanity. Now  I'm not suggesting walking almost 9 miles a day but I am suggesting that we all find ourselves releasing ourselves from being held hostage by our electronic and digital devices. I do take my iPhone with me for the photos, prayer lists, and music.  So tonight I would suggest that we all go off the grid starting with  just 30 minutes before bed time and then increase it. Take time to get to know the quiet in your home, heart, and listen what is in your hearts and in your homes. For tonight's meditation just listen to music or if you would like a time of complete silence enter into that as well. We all need to unplug and there is no time like the present.

Let's begin!
Where are you?  Turn off your phone, TV and any other distracting devices. Now start taking a few deep and cleansing breaths with your eyes closed.  Keep them closed and keep breathing and  if you'd like music find some that meets your needs. Here is tonight's selection:

The Mission - Full Soundtrack

God we pray and give thanks for times of quiet and places of solitude and beauty.

God we pray for peace in our hearts and minds with all of the disquieting news of the day not just in the media but in our own lives.

God we pray for all who are ill that they may have times of rest and quiet in order to heal their bodies, minds, and spirits.

God we pray for peace in the world that the all the violence, terror, and abuse may cease and that love, kindness, and unity may be the order of the day.

God we pray for all who mourn that they may grieve in what ever way suits them. May they have courage to cry boldly and be angry if necessary.

God we pray for all the least of these and especially those who are cold and are trying to find sources of funds by panhandling. We pray for safe shelter, nourishing food, and warm clothing for all God's children wherever they are in this fragile and broken world.

God we pray for an end to injustice, inequality, and  exclusion that we may all be one and our petty and hurtful divisions may cease.

God  may we rest quietly and gently in your arms this night and place these our prayers and the prayer that have been requested from us in the arms of your Son our Brother Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Good Night Dear Ones! I love you! May you all take care tonight and find rest and peace for your bodies, minds, and spirits. I give God Thanks for you this night and always.

With love and blessings,

Sara
