#AdventWord #Ask Hash Tags with Meaning - Day 11 of our Advent Adventure! To Ask isn't gimme, gimme, gimme!

Dear Family of Love and Fellow Pilgrims.

I hope everyone is having a Wonderful and Wonder-Filled Wednesday!  Well tonight's #AdventWord is #Ask, not what I would expect on the list for Advent but her it is. What does the word Ask mean to us? How can asking make us better people  and less afraid? Asking is something we do no a daily basis. We find ourselves asking questions, pondering our hearts for the meaning of life, We find ourselves when we are in God's presence as we pray sometimes more in the asking mode rather than deep level of listening and making a journey into the land of gimme, gimme, gimme.  Gimme, gimme, gimme, never will get you what you want in God's kingdom. We all must realizing that asking in God's realm requires of us much more than going after our own personal wish list and agenda. The way we ask in prayer and in the presence of God must be done carefully and without ego in hopes of gain. When we ask in prayer we need to keep in mind that we aren't going after the Lamborghini or Tiffany Blue Boxed Gem. When we pray we are:
Asking God for Help,
Asking God for healing of our bodies, minds, and spirits and the bodies, minds, and spirits of all of our family members
Asking for forgiveness,
Asking for peace in our hearts
Asking for ends to violence, terror, and abuse
These and many others.

Sometimes we find ourselves not knowing how to ask for help, information, and anything else because we are afraid or too proud to ask. These days we need to be in the asking business so that we may seek to know what information is true about things we see in the newspaper, TV, internet, and from many of our well meaning friends. Not an easy task. When we place ourselves in the role of asking we must allow ourselves to know that asking sometimes comes with a price. The prices are these: Looking stupid, lacking courage, and finding ourselves in the place of being frightened to get the help we seek and need. God want's us to be asking people who have open minds, courageous hearts, and finding courage to not be afraid to ask questions or seek the knowledge we need.  So tonight we are going to have a time of prayerful asking.

Remember our #AdventWord is #Ask, What is tomorrow's #AdventWord___________________

Now let us light a candle and be at prayer

God help us to learn how to ask in our prayers without using you to be our Fairy God Father.

God help us to learn how to ask for help when we are afraid to.

God we pray that we may learn to lovingly respond when the least of these asks us for help.

God we pray that we may seek to know you as we get to know who we are and ask you to help us to be up to the task.

God help us to ask on behalf of our family members and not rely solely on ourselves.

God help us to seek out the lost and lonely and not be afraid to ask them if they need our help.

God help us to ask the right questions that will help us bring peace to a fragile and broken world.

God give us the courage to ask from our government to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

God you know us better than we know ourselves we pray that what ever we ask from you we may accept in your time and let go and let You work.

God help us to ask the tough questions of times of  strife, discord , and fear so that we may find common ground and be united in love and purpose.

God help us to ask and not beg, ask and not be afraid to wait, ask and accept if  the answer is No!

God we pray additional prayers and thanksgivings________________________.

God we pray these our prayers in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Listen to this : It will help us learn how to ask:
