Santa Barbara on a Sunny Sunday Afternoon? Spontaneity at its best! and Prayers for those going back to school

Dear Family of Love!

Yes, it is true I went to Santa Barbara on a Sunny Sunday Afternoon. I had the opportunity to go and hear Anthony Baldwin  in an organ concert at Trinity Episcopal Church. It was marvelous and many of the pieces I had heard and many new ones. Following the concert I went down to the harbor and had dinner. I remember the time when Steve and I had dinner at the harbor and the Tee Fire had erupted. I love being near the water. I guess it is the Scot in me and also many times Steve and I would find ourselves near the water too. Very peaceful and serene and good for one's mental health. Today was a lesson in both spontaneity and flexibility. This is back to school eve for many of you and your children and there are emotions, fears, and many other issues at play. Tonight is a time where we need to be at prayer and have and attitude of calm and not negating anyone's feelings. Listen to your children and listen to your tone as you speak. Make your home a haven of peace this week and do not begin the process of over programming. This year let's make our children have a positive childhood that is not hurried.  We all need to be mindful that all God's children no matter how old they are, and need to learn to be resilient, spontaneous, and flexible.Without the these tools we fail to thrive and be the loving  children of God that we were born to be. Tonight let us pray for all of our family members who are going back to school.

Jesus, our Lord and Master teach us what we need to learn to be the faithful and loving children of God.

Jesus, we pray this night for all educators that they may be prepared for the new school year.

Jesus, give everyone who is involved with learning the patience to be present for all those who learn.

Jesus, give to all children who learn a sense of wonder and courage to meet each day of school as a voyage of discovery.

Jesus, help us to watch out for bullying and abuse at all levels. May we quickly respond and take action when and where it is needed.

Jesus, help the parents of all children be able to not over program their children and let them grow up at the pace that is developmental and not hot house.

Jesus, give us who are adults a continuing thirst for knowledge and that we may never tire of learning new things and enjoying life to the full.

Jesus, we pray for all special needs children that they may be treated with dignity and respect and that they may be given the necessary tools to thrive and be resilient.

Jesus, watch over and heal all those whom we have been asked to pray especially_____________

Jesus, may we all be like you and find ourselves always drawn to the Temples of learning and in Temples where we may grow in our faith and that our parents and family members may not fear our absence from them when we do.

Jesus, we pray for a return of the arts, physical fitness, and recess. May we all know that learning to find balance of our bodies, minds, and spirits are also necessary at an early age.

Lord Jesus, we lift these our prayers to you in  Your most Holy Name. Amen.
