Who has your back? Where do you go when you are at your lowest of the low?

Dear Family of Love,

Last evening I had the opportunity to see Starry Night a celebrations of the Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts a.k.a. P.C.P.A.'s 50th anniversary. They had quite a few alumni from theatre, film, and television. It was held under the stars at the Solvang Festival Theatre in Solvang California at Little bit of Denmark on the Central Coast. Amid the joys and celebration there was a palpable feeling of loss. You see Robin Williams was in the Summer Repertory Class of 1973. I had the privilege to see him starting out. As the news of his death by suicide spread these past 24 hours it got me to think and ask myself who has your back and where do you go when you are the lowest of the low?  I hope you know that you can come to me when you need anything and that I have your back now and always. Here are ways to ask and get help if you find yourself not in the best of mental, spiritual, health:

Call your medical team first and that includes God! Depression has many origins and there are drugs and counselors who can help.

Call  trusted and loving friends.

Talk to your local mental health professionals Look at the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) website or the Depression Bipolar Support Alliance website.

Check and see if 211 is your number to call for services and information

Talk with your clergy or clergy people. If they don't seem like a good fit to talk to or are trying to lay a guilt trip or make you feel like it's your fault, may not be praying enough or accepted Christ as your personal Savior Do Not Pass go and find another clergy person who can help.

If you are thinking about taking your own life or if you know someone who is please call the Need help? In the U.S.,
 call 1-800-273-8255
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

For those who live in other countries please adapt for your own use!

Don't forget!
You may PM me on Facebook or send a DM to me on Twitter. I would be happy to chat and if you do Skype we can do that too. If you are local I will provide you with my telephone number. Email is great too! I love you and have your back.

Tonight lest us be at prayer and lay all of our concerns at the feet of our Lord Jesus who has our backs all the time.

Dear Jesus, help us to know that we aren't alone and that there is help for us.

Give us Strength Lord Jesus to Ask for help when we need to.

We pray for all of our family members who are struggling with addictions and mental illnesses.

We pray for all those who have memory related illnesses and dementia.

We pray for all those who are at this very moment who are contemplating suicide may they have the courage to ask for help.

We pray for all who are lonely, lost, confused, homeless, and hungry and all the Least of these.

We pray for all of our family members throughout the world who are in harms way.  Especially those in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Israel and Gaza, and Africa where there is life threatening violence and terror.

For an end to racial profiling and violence in our own country.

For equality and justice in the world.

For all those who ask us to pray for them and all their many concerns.

For God's children who are refugees, immigrants, victims of abuse, violence, and human trafficking.

For the protection of all our most vulnerable family members of society.

For protection of God's Cathedral of Life and that we may practice conservation and good stewardship of the Land that God has entrusted to us.

For those who mourn and grieve and remember those who are dying and have died today.

Lord Christ we offer these our prayers to you in your most Holy Name. Amen.
