Peace is the word! It is time to be in courageous solidarity with the victims of violence and terror all over the world. Remember every victim is our family member!

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey,

Happy Being Thoughtful and Thankful Thursday! Here we go again into another day fraught with senseless violence. I could go on another rant but I won't. I won't because it won't help our spirits and lead us deeper in relationship with God. Going deeper is what is being called for because we all need to enter into a period of soul searching and prayer. Tonight we must join courageously  in solidarity with our family members throughout the world who are victims  of any kind of violence. We must learn to walk in their shoes and feel their pain not to make ourselves look good but to make ourselves more aware of who we are as a family and that when one is victimized we are all victimized. Peace and love will only come when we lay down hurtful weaponry that may include guns, speech, hatred, discord, and disunity. Weaponry is Weaponry!  Tonight we will make time for our breathing, mindfulness, and prayers but first let us pray the words of St. Francis of Assisi and the Beatitudes:

Tonight let us enter into silence with our Mindfulness +5 for 10 minutes; Stop and don't do anything.
Following with our breathing exercises;

Inhale
Exhale
Let there be peace.
Inhale
Exhale

Inhale
Exhale
Peace be still
Inhale
Exhale

Inhale
Exhale
Let there be peace on Earth.
Inhale

Blessed are the peacemakers
Inhale

Inhale

May peace prevail upon earth

Be Still and Know that I am God

God of Peace, we pray this night for an end to violence in its many forms and that peace may prevail upon earth.

God of Peace, we pray for our family members who were injured and lost their lives in the shooting in Oregon and for our family members who are mourning their loss . We pray for the shooter's family that they may be comforted

God of Peace, we pray for inner peace whenever these acts of violence occur. We pray that we may seek to go deeper in relationship with God so that we might be able to be peacemakers.

God of Peace, we pray for courage to speak up and speak out about any violence and hatred. We  pray this night that all lawmakers may enact sensible gun safety laws. We pray that we will never give up trying to make our nation a safe and peaceful place in which to live.

God of Peace,,we pray especially for ______________________________
