Praying for peace, speaking up for the least of these, and prayer walking the Whole Holy #3 ! All in a day's ministry!

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on our Life's Journey Together,

I was glad when God said to us" let us go into my Cathedral of Life" and that is exactly what we did. We prayer walked tonight and did the Whole Holy #3 mile pilgrimage route. Today as I watched TV, perused Social media, I found myself praying more and more for peace in this world and for the safety of all refugees and especially those who are coming to our country in droves. I can't help it if I rattle members of God's Family, when I remind them not to call our family members who come into this country by unconventional means Illegal immigrants, but refugees. For that is what they truly are. We are all called to speak up for the least of these and accept the least of these into our family. BTW that is everyone! God does not let us off the hook from caring for the least of these because when you do so you are also doing it to and for God. As much as we'd like to be able to discriminate and turn our backs on our family members we can't, and not be on the same page as God. I know, some of you may be saying to yourselves "She's that bleeding heart liberal, progressive, and she's at it again!" Yes, it's true I am at it again, I am liberal and progressive and will remain so! I promised at my baptism, confirmation, and reaffirmation without fail and wavering that I would "Strive for justice and peace among all people and respect the dignity of every human being" along with loving my neighbor who may also be my enemy, refugee, stranger, and anyone else in the Family of God whom I don't know. This is irrevocable for me as a follower of Christ. As I remind myself daily, Jesus was a refugee, homeless, and not exactly your typical mainstream person in the society of His day. He rattled cages! I rattle cages on behalf of the least of these our family members! Now that I have you sufficiently rattled! Please take time to unwind and reflect upon this day by listening to the link to the music below or set the timer for about 10 minutes:

Loving God we come before you this night with our hearts and minds fixed on your broken world that is in need of peace, healing, and reconciliation.

We pray for our family members throughout the world who are refugees and those who care fro them and give them compassionate and loving aid. May we welcome the stranger and refugee in our midst.

We pray that we may have loving and tender hearts to love all our brothers and sister whomever they may be and wherever they come from.

Help us not to discriminate against your children. Remembering that we are your children and part of the family of God too.

God we pray for the healing of divisions and that we all may be one with each other and with You O, God.

We pray for the healing of all who are ill in body, mind , and spirit that their  sufferings may be relieved and comforted.

We pray for all care givers of every stripe and that they may ask for help and be given respite.

We pray for our vulnerable family members and that includes our animal family members.

We pray that we may protect your Cathedral of Life and become better at conservation.

We pray for rain in all the drought parched areas of our country and the world.

We pray for all who travel and for traveling mercies as they move from place to place.

We pray for peace in all the holy places of the Middle East and that wars and violence may cease.

We pray for an end to violence in all its  forms in our country and throughout the world.

May we remember the words of  St. Francis of Assisi :

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen

We pray especially for those who are dying and those who have entered the Thin Places this day and in the day past.

We pray for all who mourn and those who sit vigil at bedside of those who are dying.

We remember all those who have asked us to pray for especially we offer our prayers on their behalf especially those whom we name now ______________________

We give thanks to you O God for _____________________

We lift up these our prayers in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
