Go West my Sons and Daughters and see what you can see as you Walk With Me On our Journey!

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey,

Today I had the privilege to get out and walk twice and this evening for our prayer walk. I was thinking of doing a part of the Old Route but I found myself going West and changing out the walking route and mixing it up. I wanted to explore the area around Adam Elementary School I hadn't in such a long time and I felt that I needed to make peace yet again with places where I had a few social and emotional issues when I was in Kindergarten and Sixth grade. Sometimes one finds it difficult to go back and see these places. But I did and I feel like I have made peace with these two parts of my past as a young child. That brings us to our New Mini Prayer Walk Framework which is designed to create peace and balance of one's body, mind, and spirit.

Mini Prayer Walk Framework: Finding Peace and Balance

The first thing I suggest is to select where we are going to do our prayer walking pilgrimage. It should be out of major traffic and noise and as the song says has a "Peaceful Easy Feeling"

Tonight I chose to return and walk around Adam Elementary where there are soccer fields, playground, and baseball diamonds! When I'm better I might run those bases.

Ask God to direct you! Remember God will never steer you wrong. Consecrate your walk to God and ask God to help you find peace and balance as you walk.

Take slow and easy steps, no need to rush. Select music that is both peaceful and meaningful to you.
I don't think Heavy Metal is appropriate.

Be aware of your breathing and each step you take. Are your spirits enlivened? Steps quickened, and do you feel the Living Water of Life Coursing through your veins? Is your heart being tenderized and expanded to welcome God and all those for whom you have been asked to pray for? Take your time. It takes time,  practice and courage to lay down and let things go (Noise, worries, anxieties, the daily gunk of life) down on the pilgrim route. Fear Not ! Be Still and Know!

If you are feeling tired, find a park bench where you can stop and pray. If not slow down your steps and begin your prayer list if you have one. If you don't do not worry God will provide you with one.

As you return to the pilgrim route begin to Give thanks to God for God's blessings and abundance and for the privilege of Walking the Pilgrim Route in God's Cathedral of Life.

When you return take time to look at any of the prayer lists that you may have been praying for and do closing prayers and lift these prayers to God. Take time for silence more time with God. It's okay not to rush back into activity. If you find yourself falling asleep that's okay too. Rest your bodies, minds, and spirits and feel God's love enveloping you like a prayer quilt or shawl.

Lord God watch over all those who are involved looking for the Malaysian Aircraft in the Indian Ocean.

Keep watch over all those who are leaving clothing on the pavements on our streets. We pray for their safety and those who will be the new owners.

We pray for all those who live in dangerous situations all over the world  Remembering all the areas of political and civil unrest. May we sew seeds of peace.

God watch over all those who have illnesses of any kind and heal them of their infirmities.

Help us to be mindful of the least of these each and every day.  May we be sensitive to our family members' needs and situations.

We pray for your gift of Children, their laughter, and their spirits who remind us to have senses of wonder and childlike faith. We pray for Child Help, The National Association of the Education of Young Children, CALM and all agencies that help all children and families.

We pray for all of us who have been victims/survivors of sexual assault and abuse. We pray for all Women's and children's shelters and the Silent Witness Program.

We pray that we may be alert to all of our family members with whom we share the road. Help us to be alert while we drive and put down all the devices that make us distracted.

God we pray especially for____________________

God we give thanks for_______________________

God we celebrate_____________________

God we remember and pray for all those who are dying and those who have died today and entered the Thin Places and those who continue to grieve their losses.

God we place these prayers, thanksgivings, remembrances, and celebrations, in your arms as we lift up our hands in prayer to you in Jesus' most Holy Name. Amen.
