Prayer walking with God even if it is around the block and wearing a prayer shawl!

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey!

Well dear ones you just cant't keep a good dog down! I walked 3 times around the block today and once to the grocery store! I prayer walked around the block this evening wearing one of my many prayer shawls and it felt so good. Lots of pix to share but first,let us take time to remember and pray for our family members in Fort Hood Texas who have yet again been victimized by another senseless act of gun violence. We pray for those who were killed,  the shooter, the families of those killed, the shooter's family and all those who were injured and the military family of Ft. Hood and surrounding areas.

Dear Loving, Merciful and Redeeming God of many names. tonight the words of St.Teresa of Avila and St. Francis seem to be fitting, but no words can express how are hearts continue to be in sorrow for all disasters man made, natural, and those unexplained events that we grapple with from day to day. Help us tonight to feel comforted like a prayer shawl when we mourn, get angry, and are in need of any kind of healing and compassion. God you are the light that brings us out of dark despair and into a new day or even a new nano second. May we remember all those whom we have been asked to pray for and those who do not have anyone to pray for them. Give us strength to speak the truth even when our voices shake. All this we ask in Jesus' most holy Name. Amen.

Prayers of St. Teresa of Avila

St. Teresa’s Bookmark

Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing;
God only is changeless.
Patience gains all things.
Who has God wants nothing.
God alone suffices.

Christ Has No Body

Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.

A Prayer attributed to St. Francis

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen
