Starting our Walk through one of the most holy times of the year

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on our Journey,

Tonight I decided just to go on a relatively short walk.  What a beautiful evening it is. Our vistas were wonderful too along with the soundtrack from "Chariots of Fire" This evening we find ourselves once again turning our bodies, minds, and spirits toward one, if not the holiest weeks of the year for both Jews and Christians. Holy Week and Passover intertwine gracefully as we begin a special kind of pilgrimage that begins with a bit of anxiety and fear of what's to come. Year after year and time after time we who are peoples of faith find ourselves going through these special pilgrimages. For we Christians we have been finding ourselves yet again faced with participating in Lenten disciplines and activities. Yes some of these have been more successful and life changing than others. I must admit that I had high hopes for study and discipline with various books and online courses by ChurchNext TV. But an illness called Cancer was and is my Lenten discipline and pilgrimage reassignment. Accepting this reality hasn't been the easiest thing to swallow and I have had lots of interesting types of drinks to swallow in the past few weeks. That being said, I would encourage each of us to take time to do a mini-Lent this week if we haven't been able to do so for the previous few weeks. This week we will be doing a daily kind of Stations of the Cross with meditations that will have photos from around town along with our daily walks. Some of the walks may be done differently due to our worship schedule for Holy Week. God is calling us more fully this week to "Walk with me on our Journey" as never before. Yes, I said as never before. We are called this week to become the Children and Family of God that God has created and use our voices, feet, writing skills, and yes even our bodies, minds, and spirits to speak truth to power, fight injustices, and anything else that separates us from being ONE. We are all One Family under a loving, merciful, and forgiving God who has created us in God's image and likeness and who accepts us even with the warts and all and   by the way God Created those too! So dear family are you up to the challenge and begin walking a special pilgrimage that will lead us out of bondage and into freedom with God, Each other, and the planet?

I invite you all to take time to pray each day, beginning tonight,  for our family (nearby, stranger, enemies) We pray that we may be more loving, accepting, and non-judgemental
Family members who are living on the margins of society ( No need to make a list! The Least of These!)
Family members who are ill and their caregivers.
For stable and just governance in all nations of the world.
For refugees, prisoners, captives, and those who unjustly imprison. For Compassionate Immigration reform and an effort to keep families together.
For the unemployed and those needing to find work quickly. For equal pay for equal work.
For the family members who have been bullied, abused, assaulted, and murdered at the hands of another.
For family members who have been victims of natural and un-natural disasters.
For your personal concerns that speak to you from your heart and soul.

**************
Well Lovies that is all for this evening! Remember tomorrow is Palm Sunday and here is a palm cross for you ! I made this one today at church!  Remember to bring Hope, make peace, Love with hearts to overflowing, and Light the world with joy!

May you have a blessed  Passover and  Holy Week ! Blessings, Prayers, and Love always.

Sara
