Taking time to Stop, look, and listen to God on our Holy Week pilgrimage

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on Our Journey,

I have been asking myself today what did Jesus and his disciples do the day after the entry into Jerusalem and how they felt after the  Holy Hosanna Hoopla?  Remember the week had just begun. I'll bet they all needed time to stop what they were doing and be at prayer and listen to God and Jesus. Not an easy thing to do when each one of them had expectations as to what was and is going to happen. Today I invite each of us to take time to stop, look, and listen to God by resting, reading our favorite version of the BIBLE, and reflecting on our lives and especially our lives with God. As you do this each day please remember to pray for those things that were written in the past two blog posts:

Let us pray,

We pray in solidarity with our Jewish brothers and sisters who are celebrating the Feast of  Passover and for freedom for all people in the world.

God we pray this night for those who have been victims of hate remembering those who were victims of the the shooting at the Jewish Community Center in Overland Park.We pray for all those who mourn their loss. We pray for an end to Anti-Semitic acts committed against our brothers and sisters.

God we pray for peace in all the nations of the world where there is hate, injustice, political unrest and all areas where peace, justice, and equality are in short supply.

We pray for all of our religious leaders and communities who are preparing and participating in Passover and Holy Week observances.

We pray for all those who need to lay down burdens and rest and await God's healing touch during recuperation. Help us not to feel like we need to do it all and rush to get back into routine.

God we pray for those with Cancer and all other illnesses. We pray for all the medical professionals who are on their healing teams.

God we pray for the unemployed and those seeking a return to the work place. We pray that those needing to find work may find it quickly.

God we offer our prayers that are on our hearts and minds tonight especially for _________________

God may we walk the pilgrimage of this most Holy Week for our Jewish and Christian brothers and sisters in love and one with each other.

We pray these prayers in the name God the Creator of all things who loves, reconciles, and who has made us in God's image and likeness. Amen.

 or this

I  invite you all to take time to pray each day, beginning tonight,  for our family (nearby, stranger, enemies) We pray that we may be more loving, accepting, and non-judgemental
Family members who are living on the margins of society ( No need to make a list! The Least of These!)
Family members who are ill and their caregivers.
For stable and just governance in all nations of the world.
For refugees, prisoners, captives, and those who unjustly imprison. For Compassionate Immigration reform and an effort to keep families together.
For the unemployed and those needing to find work quickly. For equal pay for equal work.
For the family members who have been bullied, abused, assaulted, and murdered at the hands of another.
For family members who have been victims of natural and un-natural disasters.
For your personal concerns that speak to you from your heart and soul.
