Learning to rest the body, mind, and spirit. A journey into prayer helps!

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on our Journey!

I can't believe that I have low energy today but I do. So we rest and play capture the energy when we can. I went out for a little while this afternoon and then came home and that is where I will be tonight. It isn't what I'm used to but, I will learn to adapt. Learning of the violence that had occurred in Isla Vista last evening didn't help the energy either, it only made me sad and hurt my heart for the victims and their families. In short, I'm a mess! Yes, we all can be messes sometimes and yet I give God thanks for giving me the courage and confidence to tell you this. Being a family means sharing the good along with the bad. We will be sharing plenty as we go through this complex journey of prayer walking, praying in place, and life's ups and downs as we can the cancer together. Today In my little Tweet on Twitter to you all I made the suggestion that we connect with all of our loved ones whom we haven't seen for awhile. This is our challenge for this week and I hope reconnecting will make a difference in your life as well as others.

So where do we begin?
We begin where we left off last evening with Jesus taking time to rest and pray. Remember Jesus and God are our role models and they show us how to rest and pray. We must learn to rest the body, mind, and spirit. Our journey into prayer helps!
We don't need any fancy or long winded prayers. Our prayers must come from our hearts and be offered with loving simplicity.

God we pray this night for peace in our cities and in our hearts. We remember all of our family members who were affected by acts of violence especially in Isla Vista and the Jewish Museum in Belgium. We pray for all who mourn. May we be sources of prayerful comfort to them.

We pray for all of us who lack the energy to do. Help us to accept these times with grace and to rest gentle with you.

W pray this night for all of our religious communities and leaders who yet again will try to make sense out of unthinkable and tragic events. We pray that they may lead their congregations with love, compassion, and listening hearts.

We pray for all children who have special needs and  mental illnesses. May their parents actively seek treatments and care for them and never forget that they belong to you O God.

God we offer all the things that trouble our minds, bodies, and spirits to you this night and may we find a peaceful rest.

We offer our various petitions, thanksgivings, celebrations, and remembrances to  you O, God knowing that you have it handled. Help us to let go and let God.

Loving and merciful God we pray that this night we may rest, reflect and be renewed to greet tomorrow with joyful energy and in loving service to you. We lift up these prayers to you and in the name of your Son Jesus. Amen.

Let us hope and pray that we will be back on the trail tomorrow. I love you! We still have time for Self-Care Saturday! Please take time for you! Be kind to yourselves! You are the only you there is and ever will be!

Love, blessing, prayers, and with peace of mind,

Sara
