The Body Has Spoken! Time to rest and pray! Jesus as our Role Model!

Dear Family of Love,

Tonight, I started out prayer walking with all good intentions but as in a take off of the final words of the television show "Survivor" 'The Body Has spoken, Time to rest! Do not pass Go!" I had my chemo pump taken down today and I thought I would have energy but alas, the answer was and is "No!" So tonight we will rest and pray. May we look to Jesus as as our chief role model and remember He listened to his body, mind, and spirit and got away to rest and pray often.

God we thank you for giving us time to rest and pray.

Please be with our family members who do not  allow themselves the gift of rest and unplugging.

We pray that we who need rest may hear your voice speaking through our bodies and what we should be doing and when.

Give us courage to tell ourselves and others  "No" and not to feel guilty.

Grant us wisdom when we need to lay our burdens and worries down.

May we feel your comforting presence as we rest and renew our bodies, minds, and spirits.

May we learn to ask for help when we need to.

We pray for all over worked, stressed, and underpaid caregivers. We pray that all caregivers may take time to rest and pray and be.

W give thanks for all of our family members who work and do ministry in the health care, mortuary, and hospice fields.

We pray for especially all of our family members who are in danger of any kind throughout your World.

We remember all of our family members who serve in the armed forces of our country and all those who have given the last full measure of their lives. We remember and pray for all of our family members this Memorial Day Weekend who are keeping us safe from harm and protected.

God in the silence of our hearts we bring our intentions to you as we pray for____________

God help us to make time this weekend to be human beings not human doings.

God we lay these our prayers and weary bodies to you for healing, comfort, and rest. We ask this in Jesus your Son who knew how to get away to the other side of the lake to rest and pray. Amen.

****************
Have a blessed night and know that we are human beings not human doings and that we are allowed to give ourselves permission to rest. Please do that before you hear your body saying "The Body has Spoken"

I love you, you matter, and may you find rest this night and always.

Peace, love, and blessings!

Sara
