Dear Family of Love!
Happy Take Care Tuesday! It is August 18 and I certainly cannot believe it. Last evening we talked about spiritual wellness using the Walk With Me On Our Journey Mindfulness Exercises. Tonight we will talk about honoring our physical bodies and selves. We all need to be mindful of our bodies since they are the casing of our souls. We must nourish our bodies with good food choices, portions, and hydration. You may or may not like what I'm about to say but here it goes : WHEN WAS YOUR LAST MEDICAL CHECK UP? If you can't remember please take time tomorrow to go to the phone and make an appointment. Let's begin Fall with a clean bill of health or at least a direction towards that end. We must also exercise for 30 minutes a day to start and then build up additional time. Walking and strength and resistance training are all that you really need unless you are a real fitness junkie. I choose to walk because being in a gym really isn't a healthy place to be for someone who still likes to be cautious about coming in contact with germs and staff infections. I also like to prayer walk because it gets me out into God's Cathedral of Life. We all must watch our fat and carb consumption. If you haven't been checked for diabetes please do, it is very important for your overall health and well being. Here is our wellness list that is really quite simple to follow:
Get a sufficient amount of sleep.
Drink plenty of fluids.
Get regular medical checkups, baseline blood work, and cancer screenings.
Get your vaccinations up to date. Flu season is fast approaching.
Get plenty of exercise 5 to 7 times a week.
Watch what you eat.
When you find that you are ill, stay home from work, church, or any other social event.
When you find yourself tired, rest, relax, refresh, and renew.
When you find something weird going on in your body, go see your doctor.
Get to know the signs of a stroke.
Get to know the cancer warning signs.
Take time to meditate and pray and add those to you wellness routine. We are going to do just that tonight:
We will repeat the first part of last evening's blog for the meditation and mindfulness exercises:
Tonight we are going to go back and do the Walk With Me On Our Journey Mindfulness exercises. It is simply this we start with our breathing exercises using this format:
Inhale the Holy Spirit.
Exhale Love.
Inhale the Holy Spirit
Exhale Love
Inhale the Holy Spirit
Exhale Love
Now repeat the following 3 times;
Be Still and Know That I am God.
Be Still and Know
Be Still
Be
Now get out some kind of timer, mindfulness app, or music and set them for 5 minutes and gradually add time . Then close your eyes and be silent. If the music goes long don't worry that will lead you into our time of prayer and thanksgiving.

God teach us to honor the bodies you created for us and that we may treat them with loving care.
God teach us to eat the right foods and not be wasteful of food and water. May we remember those who do not have access to nourishing food and clean water.
God we pray for access to good medical care and that we may not be afraid to go to the doctor.
God we pray for all of our brothers and sisters who are ill in body, mind, and spirit that they may be healed and comforted.
God we pray for all our family members who wish us harm and who find it necessary to inflict violence upon our bodies, minds, and spirits. We pray that we may do good to those who hate, bully, abuse, and wish harm. May we show them love and care in return.
God we pray for human rights for all and that our bodies may be made our own property and not belong to anyone else and that we may make our own decisions as to their care.
God we pray that we may not fear death and when it is time give ourselves permission to let go and journey to the Thin Places. We pray and remember those who are dying and those who have died. We pray that you will comfort all who grieve.
God we pray that we may rest, relax, and renew our spirits this night and always.
We pray these our prayers in the name or Jesus. Amen.
++++++++
Good Night Dear Ones! Don't forget to take care of yourselves! I love you! May you all have a restful and peaceful night. I give God thanks for you this night and always!
With Love, joy, peace, and hope,
Sara
