Let's practice kindness in every word, action, and step!

Dear Family  On our Journey !

I love you all! It's raining here in Santa Maria and guess what I need another night away from the cold night air. Praying will happen later but I wanted to separate our blogs tonight to address the need for practicing kindness every word, action, and step. Being ill I have had time to be involved with social media more than ever. We need to be kind, loving, and compassionate. We need to rely on each other now more than ever not just once in awhile. Social media has become a not so safe place for our family members to fall. On Facebook we are more exposed and on Twitter it seems like the hate is more insidious due to the anonymity. We need to do what our parents used to tell us "If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all!" This goes for what we write, post, or tweet. Remember because of all the various connections and  six degrees of separation kind of thing people instantly know if you have said, written, posted, or tweeted something that doesn't match up with you.  What does it mean to be a friend?  It means that you look out for them all the time and you never go behind their backs. Being a friend is a sacred kind of relationship that puts friend many times first and self last. As a Christian I take being a friend and loving family member seriously. I will always look out for you and have your backs and walk side by side with you on our journey. We must practice being mindful in our dealings with our family members. Think before you speak, act, write, post, or tweet.

Another set of Be's and these won't sting either!
