Travel day and a visit to the Kyoto Gardens!

Dear Family of Love and Pilgrims on our Journey!

Before you think I'm in Kyoto Japan, I'm not. I'm in Little Tokyo and the DoubleTree in downtown Los Angeles. I feel safe because the LAPD is a few blocks away. The hotel has a Japanese Garden area called the Kyoto Gardens. I like this hotel. I feel peaceful too. It has been a very long day due to my being the LEM/DIT at both services. At one point this morning I was the only person at church holding down the fort in between services. It was so  quiet and you could hear the wind rustling the leaves. It truly felt like sanctuary and very similar to the atmosphere on my walks. This week's prayer cycle will have a peaceful and peace oriented quality.I encourage each one of you to unplug and walk in silence in God's Cathedral of life. It will relax, refresh, renew, and re-enliven your spirits. Start listening for God's voice and what God may be saying to you.

Prayer Cycle for the week of  the Sunday after the Baptism of Our Lord

To have listening hearts and quiet minds to listen and feel the guidance of God.
Pray for peace in all the world.
For all of our family members who are returning to school either to teach or to learn.
Help us to be good stewards of God's Cathedral of Life
For those discerning calls to ministry or a new path in life.
Help us to care for all caregivers with love and without  needless opining.
Giver us courage to speak truth to power when we see injustice.
Quiet and still all of our worries and anxieties.
Help us to feel once again the renewing properties of the Water of Baptism.
May we continually be reminded of our promises mate at Baptism.
Help us quietly serve you without the need for recognition.
Help us when we do ministry to check our egos always.
Calm our fears and make us fearless.
For our leaders governmental and religious.
For calm in the face of danger.
Help us Lord to help you heal this broken world.
Enliven our Spirits, quicken our steps, and enlarge and tenderize our hearts.
Give us the tools to give  hope, make peace, bring joy, show love, and to be the light.

                                                           Mini -Prayer Walk

Suggested locations: Parks, beaches, trails, labyrinths botanical gardens. Any place where there is peace. If you can't walk these places try finding a church with The Stations of the Cross or Stained glass windows near aisles.
Music: Quiet flute music and or gentle praise music or find Zen Water music, or you may walk in silence. This week try silence.
Begin your walk by breathing in the Spirit. Are your laces tied securely, are you hydrated with the Living Water of Life, and are you warm in God's prayer coat.
Take time to listen to the sound of nature.
Don't rush into prayer. Focus on the peaceful qualities of the area.
Decide what your prayer focus will be.
Add your prayer list and if you are walking the same route and there are businesses etc. use them as bullet prayers.
Walk as long as your body and strength allow.
Add your Thanksgivings and prayers of celebration.
If you have singable music on then Praise God in Song.
Add your own final prayers and do some kind of cool down or time of introspection. What did God say to you on your walk? What sounds did your shoes make when you walked on leaves? What was the pavement like? Crooked or Straight?
Let's try this this week!
I'm up to it are you! Let's walk with God in silence and in solidarity for the peace of the world and shine God's light to the world. Won't you walk with me in silence and in peace on our journey?

******************************
Well dear ones, that is all for tonight I love you! Take time to rest, feel God's love and the water of Baptism renewing and refreshing you and giving you new strength for the Journey ahead.

Love and peace of mind,

Sara
